they included jill stein. she took 3% of the vote.at you can see here is people are given a choice between clinton and trump. the more other choices you give them when you take the polls the more they divide up their votes. that might be the other challenge if you are gary johnson. not only do you need to be included in the polls but need to be the only third candidate included. you want to gobble up all of that to try to hit 15%. to put this in context, what gary johnson and libertarians are trying to pull off here. this is the only time a third party candidate has been on stage in the debates in the fall with both major party candidates. one other debate that featured third party candidate september 1980 ronald reagan running against jimmy carter. it is not jimmy carter, john anderson. he ran as an independent. carter refused to debate john anderson so reagan said i will. seemed to help reagan and hurt anderson. carter ended up debating. reagan said are you better off today than you were four years ago. reagan won 44-state landslide

you've got johnson running at 5, stein running at 3. two things to remember here. number one, you've got to get to 15% in these polls. if you're a third-party candidate and you get to 15%, you get in the debates this fall. number two is are they going to be included in these polls going forward. will johnson, will stein, will both, will either of them be included in the polls going forward. when we say there's an opening for a third candidate this year, this is why. hillary clinton a favorable/unfavorable score, 37/57. that's a net negative 20 score. that would be the worst ever. if you just looked at hillary clinton, you would say that's the worst ever we've seen from a major party candidate for president. exempt look at this, she's running against a candidate whose numbers are worse. trump, 34/59. that's a net negative store of 25, jose. >> steve, let's just focus on the unfavorables only. they're tied almost. these numbers are really just outrageously large. >> it's amazing. if you can think back 24 years, 1992, bill clinton got through the democratic primaries

ben stein, thank you for being with me this afternoon as we talk about these ripple effects that we're seeing and hearing about around the world. what are you making of the political upheaval in britain since the brexit vote? >> well, with all due respect, i'm not much of an expert on british politics. as ferris buller said, i'm not european and i don't plan to be european. we don't export much to britain. we don't import that much from britain. whatever we do export to them, they'll probably still want. the markets have lost trillions in value over a change in import/export of a few billion. that just makes no sense at this point. >> it is interesting you bring that up and use that term trivial. you have the global markets that lost over a trillion on friday. the dow closed at 610 points. any lasting effects down the road? >> i don't think there'll be any lasting effects. let's be careful when you say 600. 600 would have been a lot when the dow was at 5,000. 3% is a lot. don't get me wrong, but it's not even the top 50 days of market changes. it's not that big a deal. traders like to

[laughter] kennedy: and they're probably included in that extremely interested in voting number. i think that a lot of that doesn't bode well for hillary clinton. what do you think? sandra: well, and it showed it in the polls. it siphoned votes away from hillary clinton more than donald trump. but, hey, as far as those candidates that are going to make best or the right decisions for the country, that was in this national poll, and it showed that hillary clinton won over their support 48% to 42% for donald trump. but the momentum is what everybody's talking about, whether or not that's a cliche word to use. trump has lost ground with republicans eight points since may. whites without degrees, ten points since may. men, nine points he's down since may. the trend is definitely -- >> the trend is down, there's no question. h
