live in san francisco, stephanie chuang, "today in the bay." >> thank you very much, steph. >>> in the meantime, this is actually the second fire in the same area on mission street in just the last five months. flames also destroyed a three-story building back in september just down the block. firefighters had a tough time knocking that fire down. the building was filled with clothing and flammable items. the fire there actually burned so hot t weakened the building's steel beam supports. three people, including a firefighter, needed to be hospitalized just because of smoke inhalation. >>> a former peninsula social worker accused of having sex with two underaged girls is expected back in court today. last october authorities arrested 38-year-old manuel cedio messer of santa clara. judge will decide whether there's enough evidence to try him. he's pleaded not guilty to multiple charges of sex with a juvenile. investigators say he had two girls who were both clients of his at child protective services. prosecutors say he met one of the victims while working with her family and eventually

we'll send it out to steph chuang. you're out there, it's very cold this morning yet we saw somebody out there with no shirt on. what was going on to cause the closure of the freeway in san francisco? >> the good news for commuters getting on the road today is that the situation has been resolved, chp saying it will be reopening, southbound 28. here on pennsylvania avenue, you can see that it's been closed, this on-ramp to 280 south from cesar chavez. i just saw the patrol car drive the opposite direction on the freeway to help resolve getting the cones out of the way. we're hearing it could be maybe ten minutes or so when the 280 southbound lanes are back open this morning. now earlier what caused this was a man standing on the freeway. this was at the 280/101 junction. the good news is around 15 minutes ago police were able to safely take him into custody, ending what was maybe going to cause a traffic nightmare pore those trying to get into 280 south, especially in san francisco where everyone was being diverted. 28

"today in the bay's" stephanie chuang is live in san francisco to explain why police think they may have a crack in the case. good morning, steph. >> reporter: hey, good morning to you both, kris and sam. police have focused their attention getting footage from surveillance cameras from around the area where the body parts were found near twitter headquarters and from the footage they've been able to get a distinct image of a person of interest but they have not released that image. they also haven't given any details on a description but they did spend hours yesterday looking around the streets and dumping crash cans and they did find more body parts. this is since wednesday, late afternoon when someone reported this suspicious cutecase. the ceo of goodwill san francisco turned over the business surveillance tapes but he couldn't see much other than someone, maybe a man pulling a suitcase. we spoke with a pathologist as for identifying the body or bodies that's a whole nother challenge. >> if there's a femur that can ascertain the height of the person, if there are ribs or other parts of the pelvis you could figure out possibl
