stephanie chuang is live now in alameda where fire and rescue are still on the scene.ng. >> reporter: good morning, jon. you called it, a bizarre story. fire and police left the scene. the coast guard is still in the water. you can see a 40-foot power boat crashed onto the shore this morning. there was a high rate of speed involved. it's almost upside down. there was a woman in her late 20s on board when police got here. luckily she was not injured but she was drunk and uncooperative. she claimed that a second woman was on board with her. at first saying she left on a row boat, then left on foot. despite her condition and the inconsistency of her story authorities decided to take every precaution. >> we searched for at least two hours with all of those resources. the coast guard said they would continue to search until daybreak and the police department is continuing to search the surface streets if the individual is walking around or if there is an individual. >> reporter: the woman was found on board was arrested. she is at the police department. police are trying to

stephanie chuang is live in alameda. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you both. we're at isle marina is what this is called. someone near her heard a crash. when police got here this is what they found, a 40-foot you power boat. on the boat was a woman. police said she was drunk. she had claimed that there was another woman on this boat with her but police actually ended up arresting this woman for being intoxicated and they are not sure about the story about a missing person because apparently she has changed her story several times. however, just to take all precaution police did have boats out here, alameda fire had a boat, the coast guard had a helicopter searching the morning hours, but the search was called off at about 4:00 this morning until it is light out again, because right now of course it's too dark. so, whenever the light comes back out they will resume this search. what they are working to do now is get a boom around this boat because at this point they do have environmental concerns, possible leakage of any fluid, fuel of course from this boat. a

nbc bay area stephanie chuang joins us live where investigators are still trying to piece this thing together and how whyy this happened. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, jon. that's exactly right. and this woman at first claimed that she had another friend on board with her. police confirming she was alone in all of this. right now crews are in the water setting up a wider prim for this haz-mat boom to contain fuel leakage that might be spilling out. for the woman, she could be on the hook for tens of thousands of dollars. >> i was shocked. absolutely. >> reporter: wedged almost upside down, this 42-foot boat dubbed le bonbon slammed here before 2:00. the listing agent selling the boat for 100 grand on behalf of a san francisco woman. he says it was stolen overnight, a few miles away from a marina at oakland's jack london square. >> that's supposed to be 24-hour security at the marina. one, when you fire up a boat with that, they make a lot of noise, and somebody should have heard something going on. >> reporter: alameda police found a woman, unidentified and uninjured, on t

stephanie chuang, nbc bay area news. >> thank you, stephanie. san jose police are also investigating two shootings overnight that left one man dead and three others injured. lice say the first shooting hatched on the 1100 block of chen street after midnight. linumier latnu not far away, on murphy avenue near oakland road. police say shots were fired during a fight near the carlos goldstine restaurant. one man died. a third victim who was also shot in the incident walked into the emergency room shortly after the shooting. >> we don't know that it's gang related at this point. it appears to be just a bar brawl gone bad. we know there was a physical fight. we know it spilled outside the bar and at one point one of the persons in one of the groups produced handgun and hit three people. >> the victim in the first shooting was also taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. police have not released the names of victims and they have not made arrests either. >> the state republican party just finished its convention this week

nbc bay area's stephanie chuang is live in oakland.s not a pretty picture. >> reporter: no, jessica, it isn't. now, occupy oakland protesters have always said that the doors to city hall were unlocked and open when they went in saturday night. police have always countered that and now say they have proof to back it up. it began with protesters waving the american flag. in the background, someone proudly shouted "oakland" but then a glow and soon the flag was on fire. at the hands of some occupy oakland protesters while a few others chanted in encouragement. they had taken the flag from inside city hall just moments earlier. >> we do know that the doors to city hall were, indeed, locked, and you can actually see the pry tool working its way in between the doors so they could force the lock, break it and then open. >> reporter: as soon as the doors o opdoor s, protesters break into city hall. a line of them. bun rig one right after the other. oakland police spokesperson said the crowd inside quickly grew to more than 100. city hall surve

stephanie chuang is live in alameda with the latest on the search. good morning, stephanie. >> reporter: good morning. we're live at the marina where it happened. the call coming in 2:00 this morning from a resident who heard a loud collision. this is what investigators found when they got here. it's about a 40-foot power boat so obviously some speed involved as it launched out of the water on the shore. it's a bit of a fact finding mission is what police call this because they found a woman on board, she's in her late 20s they say. and she said that there was another woman on board with her. now, this woman was nowhere to be found. and that the woman they did find was apparently drunk so they did arrest her, but it's a bizarre story. just take all the precautions investigators did call in the coast guard, launched a helicopter, they had rescue boats out here. alameda fire had a boat. they were in the waters about two hours before they called it off temporarily until there is light back out. in the meantime, oakland fire department is headed this way.
