"parasite" continued to build momentum and as it was leading up to the oscars, some awards shows were giving it the top prize, people were talking about it more and more having people say i really just like "parasite" after they won for director, when bong joon-ho one for director, people said this may be "parasite's" night. when i talked to before the show and afterwards, after they got the foreign language film, he thought that would be it. and you can tell he was completely shocked. they won for the screenplay, they looked at the statue on stage like is this really happening? he said he had an out of body experience when i asked him about it later on. walking away with four oscars, and the big prize of best picture, the first time that you've seen a nonenglish language film take that honor, so excited. and the crowd was behind them. you could feel the cheering, you could feel

let's begin this hour with stephanie elam. she joins us live from sacramento. and that is thousands of people interacting every day with the general public. how great is the concern now in terms of the potential spread of this virus there? >> right, well, when you talk to officials will tell you this is something they saw coming because they know how diseases work in general. but when you take a look at the one woman here in solano county, one county over from where i am in sacramento, they are saying they've enacted a proclamation of local emergency so they can identify anybody, screen anybody, and then keep monitoring those people. this is the same county where the planes have been coming back from china, repatriating americans from parts that were contaminated that we know had an outbreak there. so there was some concern that perhaps this woman got it through any contact with travis air force base. officials, however, are saying that's not the case. they still do not know how this woman was able to contract coronavirus. they are working very hard to figure t

let's go to stephanie elam. she she is there in sacramento for us. they're trying to figure out how this patient was infected. >> exactly, brianna. i'm outside this hospital in sacramento where she is being treated. we know she was in the community in vacville and was there for three days before she was transferred by ambulance here to the medical center. the reason that is noteworthy is she was not tested for coronavirus until she got here to the medical center. in light of that, what we do know is that her family has been quarantined and also the hospital saying any hospital worker that came into contact with her, they are now monitoring them. some of them are quarantined, some isolated, some are just at home monitoring their own symptoms. they are saying it is dozens of hospital workers they are monitoring but it's less than 100 people. they're also looking at a few people she could have come into contact with the first few days while they were asymptomatic. this is the home of travis air force base where the americans came after being transported

stephanie elam is live outside the hospital where this patient is in sacramento, california. give us the latest. >> reporter: right, john. it would not be a case of would be quarantine. those showing signs would be quarantined now. also you would have others that are monitoring some to say stay at home and monitor themselves. all in all, though, the hospital that originally took this patient in in solano county, those people there, they're saying it's less than a hundred people that fall into this category. but they've identified all of those people. we also know this patient's family is also in isolation as well. . this is what an official in solano county had to say. >> this patient, we don't know what their exposure was. so at this point, we don't know where the patient was exposed. the patient was hospitalized in our country at a local hospital. became progressively more ill. at some point, the patient became ill enough to warrant testing for coronavirus and the result came back positive. they had no connection to any of the risk factors for coronavirus. >> so all of this

stephanie elam is live outside uc davis where that patient is being treated. steph, good morning. >> good morning, erica, yes. this all because what we know is that this one person who has had no contact, no travel outside of the united states to any of the points of concern, no reason to have this coronavirus at this point. this one person did actually stay in a hospital in the county where she is from which is one county over from sacramento county here. she was there in her community for a number of days before going to a hospital there. well, all of the people who work at the hospital who came in contact with her, the hospital has tracked down. dozens of people but less than a hundred people that they are now monitoring of some sort. also we know that the family of this woman has been isolated and they are monitoring these people as well to see if they show any symptoms at this point. that's the big thing that they want to do is make sure this virus doesn't spread because of people who came in contact with her at the hospital. but just to give you an idea,
