i'm stephanie lin. our top story this afternoon. we're tracking the fallout of the decision to charge 3 alameda police officers with involuntary manslaughter for the death of mario gonzalez last night. the public accountability unit of the alameda county district attorney's office announced the charges against officers. eric mckinley, james fisher and cameron lee as they carry it. rather they carry a sentence of 4 years in state prison. exactly 3 years ago, gonzalez died under their custody. officers were called to a park responding to reports of a man behaving oddly they learned gonzalez was accused of shoplifting and attempted to take him into custody. body cam video released a week later showed gonzalez in handcuffs being pinned to the ground for more than 5 minutes. the corny the county coroner ruled his death is homicide concluding he had a heart attack caused by methamphetamine. houston from being restrained. a second autopsy concluded he died of restraint, asphyxia and not from drugs in his system. the attorney for one of the

i'm stephanie lin today. san francisco is recognizing a 7 year milestone. kron 4 charles clifford joins us live now from san francisco with the latest on charles. >> well, good afternoon, the city of san francisco, the police department say that they believe they have completed. >> some are reforms that they've been working on for the better part of a decade. let's going take a look at some video here now. 7 years ago, the police department was under heavy criticism following violence use of force incidents, including the death of mario woods. now at the time the obama administration, department of justice recommended 272 reforms to the department to address issues, including biased policing, use of force racial equity, transparency and data the police department says they've been working on those 272 reforms ever since. and today they say they have submitted the last 27 responses to those recommendations to the california department of justice and they feel they've fulfilled their obligation. now, critics of the police department here in san francisco say

i'm stephanie lin in the south bay. san jose is moving forward with tougher restrictions on where rv's can be parked near schools. it was a unanimous vote by the city council kron 4 sarah stinson has the details. >> jose city council approved an rv than tuesday. it will first be piloted at 3 schools. independence high school shirakawa elementary school and challenger at mayor matt mahan says the city needed to pass tougher restrictions because he says students don't feel safe at school went henson, rv encampment czar nearby. >> sometimes being harassed on their way on and off campus. we're having break-ins on campus. even found needles on their picnic tables back in 2021, the city voted to restrict encampments within 150 feet of schools. >> but that's become more of an informal guidance. council members say the new initiative will give the city authority to put up no parking signs and tow our views within the school zone. homeless advocates have been opposing this measure since january and they continue to do so. you se

i'm stephanie lin lawyers filing a temporary restraining order today urging a judge to temporarily block the transfer of anyone who was still left at that prison. organizers say dozens of women have already been sent away, putting them at grave risk of psychological stress. this comes days after the announcement that the all-women's prison will close. our charles clifford brings us our top story. this past monday, the bureau of prisons announced that fci, dublin, the federal women's prison here in the east bay would be shut down. >> and at the incarcerated women inside would need to be moved to other locations, potentially thousands of miles away. that has resulted in outrage and the lawsuit outside fci, dublin on friday, dozens of protesters demanded that the bureau of prisons stop the planned transfer of the women incarcerated. here. it was a shock to all of and we should peril with the california coalition of women. prisoners says the announcement that the prison would be closing as left those here confused and worried they're terrified >> the public think, colleen, like it each day t
