"today in the bay's" stephanie trong is live at the scene with the latest for us. stephanie, good morning. kw >> reporter: good morning. several security guards are here at the scene walking around the property guarding what's the scene of a federal investigation. this senior housing complex under construction, you can see just to the right of it is the west oakland b.a.r.t. line just after the west oakland b.a.r.t. stop. it's an estimated $25 million worth of damage here anyway so far. the question is, was this an intentionally set fire? a security guard says that right before the building went up in flames, three young men harassed him and chased him off the property. special agents with the alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives or atf were called in, many who worked complex fire scenes with access to dogs trained specifically in detecting accelerants. >> the fire was a large magnitude fire, about a city long block. due to the dollar loss of the building and that b.a.r.t. was shut down and such, we want to be completely thorough and they have a lot of resource

nbc bay area stephanie trong has more on what protesters are planning next. >> my greatest passion is to prepare young children to create a better world than we have created for them. >> reporter: ann taught here for 30 years at san francisco 125i89. that's what she's teaching the kids taking classes at the people's school. the free summer program for kids held inside the lakeview building that's supposed to be closed. >> i think people are feeling really excited about the school. and getting to see the kids do a real summer school in a building that was supposed to be district offices. >> reporter: police officers with the school district warned protesters on monday to leave or face jail time. so far, it's been fairly quiet. they tell us that while police action is not imminent, it is inevitable if protesters won't leave. 24/7, at least one police officer with the district is parked nearby, usually across the street. keeping an eye on the people camped out in the eight tents or so pitched in the courtyard. there will be extra patrol for tomorrow's march. but they said that is not her
