wmur' s stephanie woods continues our storm watch team coverage. stephanie: we are here at manchester public works and there is a lot of activity here. please -- the snow are getting ready and there is a huge pile of salt. one reason it is so big is dpw has yet to kick into it. manchester dpw says it has 6500 tons of salt on hand and will be the trucks will go out in the early evening with the snowplows at the ready to the deputy director says he is hopeful not all the snowplows will be needed because the ground is not frozen and the snow may not stick. he says the typical snowstorm requires anywhere from 1200 to 2500 tons of salt. dpw has not had to dip into its reserves yet this season. >> we have not spent any money on salt as of yet this year, nor have we on overtime. that is certainly a benefit to the city budget. in years past we have seen substantial snowfall in late october. this is certainly beneficial but you never know what the rest of the winter season is going to bring. stephanie: now, we have definitely had a warm holiday season and we

stephanie: and i' m stephanie woods. police say they were able to nab the suspects thanks to teamwork and calls from neighbors. but it is a case with an interesting twist. wmur' s jennifer crompton joins us with that story tonight. >> the initial call to franklin police wasn' t about a home invasion. it was about a suspicious man seen stumbling around a neighborhood. turns out, he was a victim. residence on nelson street where a disheveled man had collapsed on a porch. he' d jumped from the second story balcony of an apartment up the hill to avoid two men who had burst in with shotguns. based on what he told them, along with information from two others in the unit, franklin put out a description of the men and their vehicle. state police spotted the suspects' after. >> trooper first class shirley called for backup. other troopers and franklin police responded, and we apprehended three suspects in a vehicle that had been stolen out of boscawen, so they obtained that vehicle. >> 18-year-olds dominic ferrari and trent mcdon

stephanie: and i' m stephanie woods. police say williams was speeding away from police right before he crashed. wmur' s kristen carosa spoke to state police today and joins us now with the details. kristen: eric williams was driving a 2007 ford crown victoria, a car he made several driving violations in. but when police attempted to pull him over, he only drove faster. the pursuit started saturday afternoon on the eastbound side of route 101 in exeter. williams didn' t stop and hit speeds over 100 miles per hour. he lost control and rolled his car over several times. guardrails were smashed on the eastbound and westbound sides of the highway. williams did not have his seatbelt on and was thrown from the car. he was pronounced dead at the police shut down both sides of route 101 between exits 11 and 12 for several hours. >> in the area just east of exit 11, the operator made a sudden movement in the vehicle which caused him to lose control and subsequently struck the guardrail on the high-speed side, rolled over several t

stephanie woods, wmur news 9. josh: thanks. earlier today we spoke with brad garrett, he's a former f.b.i. profiler and now consultant with abc news. he talked about the next steps in this case. where does this investigation go right now? we know it's been reported that the male suspect recently traveled to saudi arabia, his girlfriend or wife had a passport from pakistan. what are people looking at now? >> who are they connected to, who trained them, where do d the weapons come from, where did the explosives come from. who they talked to or communicated with, whether through a cryptic communication around the country. all of that becomes extremely important as the f.b.i. and other agencies try to figure out, are there other people like these two that sort of blended into the community and then launched this horrific act yesterday without anybody knowing that they were there. josh: we do have much more on this story coming up, including the steps already under way in washington to close homeland security loopholes, and more on

stephanie: i am stephanie woods. the crash happened just after 3:00 this afternoon in hudson. that is where we find mike cronin live tonight. mike: highland street has been closed for hours. this remains an active seen what police try to figure out how the 14-year-old boy was hit by a car. the teen was crossing highland street when he was hit by 2007 tucson driving west. police say the boy suffered injuries and was airlifted to a boston hospital. a factor in the accident. but in general, neighbors say they have seen accidents before and cars drive fast on this road. >> the cars fly down this road day long. i walk them back-and-forth to the bus stop. >> about 20 years ago when we moved here, it was like a back road. now people use it like a highway. they cut across from hudson to nashua. it is crazy. together what led up to the accident. as we learn more, we will bring you that information. mike cronin, wmur news 9. stephanie: thank you. state police have identified the people killed in a head-on crash on route 101 in wilton. investigators say 31-year-old marcus harmon of keene

wmur' s stephanie woods reports from farmington. stephanie: farmington police say they got a call about a car on fire thursday afternoon. when they rushed to the scene here on main street, they found not only a car on fire, but that the flames had spread, to the masonic temple. >> we found a vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames, it was parked up right against the building. shelley: -- stephanie: at about 4:45 thursday afternoon, a fire broke out in an alley off main street detective matt embrey says something about it was suspicious. >> myself and several officers questioned people in the crowd from the department and stephanie: that led to 33-year-old conrad parent the third of farmington, who embrey says deliberately lit the car on fire. >> ultimately he ended up confessing to the fire. stephanie: embrey says parent knows the owner of the car, which was badly burned. >> there was extensive damage to the car. it' s not going to be driven ever stephanie there was also : extensive damage to the inside and outside of the farmingto

stephanie woods, wmur news 9. mike: mike: if you've got travel plans to the theater over the next few hours, it's going to be wet and soggy, no doubt about that, so be prepared for slow going on the roads. upper 30's to start around 8:00, 9:00 tonight. predawn hours, around 35 or 36 with fog and a leftover shower possible. the time lapse at the coast today, fog, low clouds, drizzle all morning long. then during the afternoon steadier rain did build in from the south and west. that rain is continuing right now. it lingers right on through the evening before it tends to taper off overnight. that means some slightly dryer air comes in over the overnight stretch into early tomorrow morning. so a dry and pleasantly cool friday. temperatures still well above average. once we get interest the afternoon we could make a run near 50 again near the coast, just like we did today and it does turn cooler as we get into the weekend. snow showers on saturday, that means a return to average temperatures finally by the upcoming wee

good evening, i' stephanie: and i' m stephanie woods. meteorologist a.j. burnett is tracking the storm and tells us what it will mean for us. a.j.: that storm means business over texas now. it is incredible to know in the same state, we have two there different kinds of weather. you have severe storms and heavy rainfall throughout eastern portions of texas. on the backside of this, on the cold side of the storm, you have almost blizzard conditions out to portions of western texas. this is the same system that will slide this way toward tuesday. we have had rain and snow showers today. that is not the same system. it is a piece of the puzzle. high pressure now building and. skies will clear out after stubborn clouds this evening. colder temperatures building in the cold air ingredient number this way for tuesday. we will put details on what you can expect and when you can few minutes. stephanie: thank you. after the warm weather this month, southern new hampshire is anticipating its first chance of accumulating snow. it has some local landscaping snowplows.

i am stephanie woods. mike, what do we know so far? mike: route 101 between exits 11 and 12 has been closed and you can see the headaches what is causing in this area of exeter. cars are being diverted off of route 101 westbound and traffic is backed up in other directions. officials are not saying what the issue is and we are not allowed on the highway. take a look at this video sent to us from a viewer. cell phone video shows a car flipped upside down on the highway. it is unclear what led to the crash. each was have been set up at of route 101 remain closed for now. officials are not saying when it will reopen. leave yourself some extra time because traffic is moving slow. we are hoping for an update soon from police could stay with wmur and wmur.com as we were to be posted with the latest. mike london, wmur news 9. stephanie: it was a beautiful day with temperatures in the mid-50' s for parts of the granite state. goffstown and portsmouth enjoyed clear blue skies. the question is, how long will this warm weather stick around. meteo

wmur's stephanie woods is live at the cheshire medical center reporter: tom, 32-year-old amanda gaspard worked here at cheshire medical center as the emergency preparedness coordinator from 2009 to 2012. now a relative tells us that while she is originally from hinsdale, she now works for the san bernardino county health department, according to her grandmother. a relative says that during the deadly shooting yesterday in san bernardino, gaspard was shot three times in the leg. now her grandmother says that her granddaughter had surgery last night and is expected to recover. today gaspar's mother diane posted this statement on her facebook page. one of her first comments to us was that somehow this situation could be used to witness for the lord, her faith is so strong, she was praying with other victims while she was lying there bleeding. we praise god for sparing her life. now, we spoke with mountain view vermont where gaspard's parents are members, they say that the parents flew out this morning to california to be with their daughter. live in keene, stephaie woods, wmur news 9. tom:
