steve paulson. thank you. >> you bet. >>> the berkeley police department is having serious staffing issues.he high cost of living is mostly to blame here. they have 176 officers right now. the goal is to have 200. starting pay at berkeley pd is $95,000 a year. but the city says it is having a tough time holding on to its officers because many can't afford to live in berkeley. and other departments are paying more. over the past few months, the company cut its bike operations and says in march it will have to cut its motorcycle officers. >>> this morning we are learning more about the san francisco police officer who shot and killed himself after being pulled over by richmond police. sources tell us that the officer was being investigated for allegedly having sex with a girl under the age of 14 in las vegas. reportedly this happened back in 2013. now, the officer was off duty on monday. a richmond officer pulled him over on a traffic spot in the parking lot of the hill top mall which is near his home. that's when he turned his gun on himself. neighbors are concerned. >> my mom runs a day car

(steve) police arrested a woman they say has broken into several lockers in berkeley gyms. authorities say andrania yancy broke into two lockers at the berkeley city sports club in october. she used credit cards from those lockers to make purchases at a c-v-s. in november... a locker at equinox berkeley was broken into. police say yancy took the car keys from that locker... broke into the car... and stole credit cards. yancy charged more than 20- thousand dollars to those cards. she was arrested her at her richmond home where authorities found the items reported stolen. yancy has been charged on a string of charges including possession of stolen property and identity theft.
