steve: making news right now paul ryan says it is a new day , in the house of representatives. he spoke after his republican colleagues nominated him to become the chamber's next speaker, in the hope he can guide the highly fragmented party out of years of internal feuding. rep. ryan: but tomorrow, we are turning the page. we are not going to have a house that looks like it's looked the last two years. we are going to move forward. we are going to unify. our party has lost its vision, and we are going to replace it with a vision. steve: after a full house vote tomorrow, ryan will succeed the embattled john boehner, who announced his resignation last month. the house also passed a bipartisan budget and debt deal that prevents a government default. the bill now goes to the senate, which is on track to pass it before tuesday's deadline, for increasing the so called debt limit. it also gives the government the authority to borrow freely through march of 2017. the measure is the result of hard-fought negotiations between congressional leaders and president obama. stacey: britain's prince harry is in the washington, dc area today. he joined first lady michelle
