steve hanke, please stay with us. the set of jet fuel has increased the price of flying. when we come back, the cost of flying, fuel, and the cost of a seat. stay with us. >> welcome back to "inside story." i'm ray suarez. with the winter holidays just around the corner. you're probably thinking all of this talk about low oil prices might make it a good time to buy airplane tickets. but that may not be the case. airline profits are expected to grow 26%, to $25 billion worldwide. the extra money goes into planned overhead, maintaining and buying flames, expanding flight networks. airfares may drop but not by much. some on capitol hill are curious how legal that is. >> oil prices, which is half the cost of running an airline are way down. why are prices way up. i'm asking the department of transportation and the department of justice to fully investigate why airline prices aren't following oil prices and going down when oil prices makeup about 50% of the airlines' costs? >> airline companies argue they buy their fuel in advance and are locked in to certain prices. but even

hank's mother called and sent me a check for $150,000. that deal just cost me time, but that's not always the case. -peter: marcus, i'm peter. -steve marcus, i'm steve. -lemonis: nice to meet you. -steve: nice to meet you, too. lemonis: skullduggery, a family-run toy design and manufacturing company in anaheim, california, was exactly the sort of company that i felt had great potential. the company had generated $1.6 million in sales the previous year, but they were still losing money. steve: it's a big loss. lemonis: and while they had one or two products that had real potential, most of their products were missing the mark and collecting dust. i don't get this game. it's not fun. but if i can increase their visibility on the toys that were selling and push them to create new toys, i knew i could turn skullduggery around. so, i did a deal, and i invested $1.1 million for 30% of the company and an ongoing sales royalty. so, i want to be able to have control over the financial side. i don't want you taking on any debt or taking on any other partners without me being okay with it. -steve: i think that's fair. -peter: you want to shak

steve liesman in just a second here. i believe we are still waiting for him to get ready. we will go instead to hank smith here for just a second, hank and let you respond to what ron was just saying. >> well, kelly, based on the conversation on what we're buying, i think the market has put energy stocks for sale, i think the selloff has been way overdone, particularly in the higher quality names and so for long-term investors, initiating positions in names lake exxon, chevron, yielding 3% and 4% and a high-quality exploration company like shah lumber shea makes sense, maybe not for a near-term trade but for a long-term investment. these companies have made money for shareholders over the decades regardless of where the praise of oil has averaged out and we think that's going to be the case in the future. >> l and we will get to our steve in just a few minutes. thanks for that, everybody, good to see you this afternoon. appreciate the perspective here and we have got about 50 minute goes into the close and as mentioned, historic day her for market, the dow up another, about 312 points. thesome & p a
