steve harrigan live from orlando, where the fbi is still investigating. >> reporter: leland, part of that investigation is of surveillance video from inside the club dours of that attack. they are going through it minute by minute. it is reportedly extremely graphic video. you can see the gunman reloading several times. in it, he's described by one law enforcement official as cold-blooded during that video footage. also, his finances are being examined. apparently he sold his share in a partial ownership of a house to his brother-in-law several months before the attack. he also made sure to place his then-wife, now his widow, on his insurance and also on his bank accounts. really both signs pointing to the fact this may have been an attack months in the planning, an attack in which the killer did plan to die. as you mentioned, funerals here across the orlando area. there were eight funerals here yesterday, five more today. local merchants donating the flowers and limousine rides for the families. some of those funerals really packed houses, thousands of people showing up. they have h

. >> steve harrigan, thank you very much. >>> mateen has been on the radar since 2013 and was interviewed by the fbi twice. but previous investigations were called inconclusive. katherine harris is live for us with the story. what have we learned about the suspect and why he did this? >> there is new video tonight, a federal agent searching the home of omar mateen's father in port st. lucie, florida. earlier a law enforcement source told fox news there was no derogatory information found so far on the father. this is standard practice, part of the investigation, to build out the suspects. omar mateen was known to the fbi and had contacts with the bureau in 2013 after he made inflammatory comments that alarmed his co-workers. omar mateen was interviewed twice but the claims were not substantiated by the fbi and the matter was closed. again, in 2014, he was interviewed by the fbi because of a connection to another florida man moner abu salha. he had left florida and gone to syria where he joined the al qaeda affiliate al nusra front and drove a truck into a restaurant and killed syrian gove

steve harrigan is following this story in orlando. steve, what is the latest on the ground?m where i'm standing 234 front of this trauma center where most victims have been brought. it started with a shootout between one shooter and one police officer at the pulse nightclub. it was latin night at the pulse nightclub. about 320 people inside of that gay nightclub. those shots >> shots were exchanged and three hours later, a s.w.a.t. team breached the door of that nightclub and rescued at least 30 hostages. as far as the shooter goes, he is a 29-year-old man. u.s. citizen. parents from afghanistan. his name is omar mateen. 50 people killed. 53 wounded. many severely wounded. they have been brought to the trauma center behind me. many of the relatives who were gathered at one hotel for news are in the agonizing position now not knowing if their relatives are dead or alive and they are searching and waiting for some kind of news. we just spoke to a man who is still looking for his brother. here is what he had to say. >> he said he was in the club with three of his friends and he
