new questions on libya that steve hayes is here to analyze.s newsroom," top of the hour >> brian: yesterday the pentagon confirming just days before the election, iranian jets tried twice to shoot down an unmanned u.s. drone, unmanned and unarmed u.s. drone over international waters and failed. the news came out yesterday. many this morning are asking, why now? are we finding out about it. joining us is fox news strategic analyst and author, lieutenant colonel ralph peters. did they try and shoot down this unarmed drone or just send use message? >> they absolutely wanted to shoot it down. the order would have come from the very highest levels and the iranians wouldn't have screwed around. a unmanned aircraft might have been different. they figured they could knock it down and get away with it. it was embarrassing for the iranians because they chose an interesting aircraft, an old russian aircraft, knockoff of our tank killer, clearly -- pilots don't get a lot of air to air training. and it looks like they didn't calibrate their guns properly.
