fox 29's steve keeley is live in bridgeton, this morning, with the details, just crazy, steve? >> well, just hearing you read that lead-in, just sounds unreal almost. two different intentional shootings, at police, on two straight days, in two south jersey departments, and we're live outside the latest target of the bridgeton police department. so, now, two big, $20,000 rewards from the new jersey state police benevolent association whose reaction to both of these attempts on officers lives calling it outrageous. four bridgeton officers checking out this burglary call here on north street came out of a home, when they got back to the sidewalk, near the patrol cars, someone shot at them from right across north street. they dove for cover, called for immediate back up, local police, then got immediate help from new jersey state police, as well, so troopers from three different stations, showed upright away. k9 officer shows up. they set upper iometer. search for hours not finding the shooter and saying intentionally they won't comment on whether they found the gun, bullet casings

fox 29 steve keeley live at police headquarters, steve? >> reporter: well, while some of philly's best young people were playing in the huge little league game up in williamsport, another young teenager back home, not too far from taney little league's home little league field was shot and killed. one of the two newest murder victims in philadelphia within the same hour, and within the same south philly section of the city. >> a 16 year old male transported by private auto to methodist hospital. he was suffering from two gunshot wounds to the chest and torso area. he was pronounced dead at 10:35 p.m. based on balistic evidence, we know at least five shots were fired from semiautomatic guns, found five spent shell casings on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of south 21st street. based on witness information, we know that our shooter was a male wearing a gray hooded wet shirt and camouflage-type shorts. he was last seen running south on 21st street, 1500 block, toward tasker street. >> about 45 minutes after that, this scene then happened. jus

fox 29's steve keeley is live at einstein hospital where the officer is being treated, steve?> reporter: well, news out of the einstein emergency room hasn't always been so good when it comes to the philly police officer shot in the line of duty but officer steve korpalski which watching his next eagles game on tv and hearing announcers say on a close first down play that the game is a matter of inches may realize how his life is a matter of inches. it had already been a bad year for philly cops being shot at or having guns pulled on them by people and police having to shoot back to survive their shift and it happened again to korpalski on what many considered the the most dangerous shift, late night, overnight, when the streets, allies, sidewalks are dark and some of the worst people are up to the worst crimes. it doesn't get much worse then trying to kill cops just as they show up after answering a call for a guy seen outside walking around with a gun and look at our video. officer korpalski in his partner's police van took a bullet right behind where they sit right next to

philadelphia's police commissioner is in favor of them and fox 29's steve keeley is live at philadelphia police headquarters this morning. steve, is this something coming to the city? >> reporter: we don't know. i talk to the commissioner about this a year ago and money is always the the issue. it is not in the city yet and the commissioner when i talked to him a year ago about this and we interviewed and did a story about this, involving those other local departments, especially down the shore where they are starting to use them, the commissioner said he'd have to probably talk about it in the next police contract, and in fact, they just did a police contract so it wasn't in that and police union is not in favor of this because who wants a camera on them recording everything that they do, and showing everything that they do all the time. that is probably not the reason union doesn't want that. it is uncomfortable for them in a lot of different ways and reasons but what we're seeing around the country right now is one of the reasons that cities really want it. not even leaders of the pol

and, fox 29's steve keeley live in bridgeton this morning, with the details for us, steve? >> probably more than a hundred officers likely finding evidence they won't comment on. now two intentional shootings at two south jersey police departments, on two consecutive days this week. so now two big, $20,000 rewards, from the new jersey state police, benevolent association, whose president called these acts outrageous. so, here we go. four bridgeton police officers checking out burglary call here on north street. come out after home, and when they get back to the sidewalk, someone shoots at them from right across the street, on north street. one bullet just misses one of the officers' heads. they all dive for cover. all call for back up. local police then get immediate help from new jersey state police, troopers rush here from three different stations, setting up a perimeter, and searching for hours, not finding the shooter, and saying no comment on whether they found the gun, bullet casings or any other evidence. this happened just 21 hours after someone shot up the west dep

steve keeley is live at einstein hospital this morning, steve. >> reporter: all right. lets go to some new video, first of all, let's show you the scene here at quarter to 1:00 and no officer wants to start the the shift on the streets and end it in an emergency room but four year veteran steve korpalski life didn't end as he and his partner showed up at torresdale and mcgee answering a 911 call about a guy with the gun. two other officers came within backup and within seconds the the guy with the gun was shooting the gun at them, grazing korpalski on the left side of his head and police van they got out of took a bullet right where they sit right above to the left of the painted police word on the side of the van. the gun fired at police on the sidewalk right in front of the corner brooks pharmacy which also has bullet holes in it. >> at 12:4 four tonight, officer korpalski and his partner responded to a man with the gun at 6401 ditman street. they saw the male at mcgee and torresdale. they went to stop the male. immediately the male fired upon them striking officer ko

steve keeley live outside of police headquarters with the details, steve? >> reporter: well, this is a real baffeling case right now, because the detectives here in the homicide bureau not only do not know who killed her, they don't know why. no obvious motive. no for sure direction for these detectives to take, meaning, yes, still possible, maybe even likely, that someone she encountered at random, wrong place, wrong time, woman power walking alone in the dark may have killed her, but it is also possible someone she may have known killed her. yes, her phone is missing, as we reported yesterday, but with someone kills somebody to cover up for cell phone robbery, that cell phone was turned off by who ever took it, turned off half hour after connie murray left her home to exercise. police admit that maybe somebody didn't even take her cell phone, that it was dropped somewhere, and still haven't found it yet. so unless she turned it off herself, or it ran out of power, who ever killed her, did soon after she left her home and walk into that park. >> females ou

steve keeley live at the courthouse in mount holly with the details, steve. >> reporter: here we go,xcited for a new nfl season but yet here we go again with another head line today, with one of the games top long time greats for off the field stuff and a in a courtroom trouble. irving fryar former eagle and local high school star here in the same town he is supposed to be in this court house today mount holly will be soon in the state prison for up to five years. back in june the state judge here gave fryar new 51 years old until today to decide to accept a guilty plea deal that comes with that five-year prison term for that mortgage fraud with his own mother where they are charged with getting, five different mortgage loans within six days, for the same willingboro house that she lived in five years ago. getting $690,000 cash total from those five banks, each bank did not the know the other was being applied for and not told of all of the other loans in that same week and, new jersey state attorney general says that fryar pocketed 200,000 bucks from this scheme. banks each thought
