china and treasury secretary steve mnuchin planning talks beyond the big news yesterday, that they will talk in china and now, incations this could last a while. edward lawrenceils. hey, edward. reporter: neil, a renewed sense of optimism from the administration about a trade deal with china. talks are on for next monday through wednesday. treasury secretary steve mnuchin says the chinese wanted the talks moved to shanghai. he reads importance into that, because the history of the city the shanghai communique in 1972, that said the u.s. and china would work to normalize relations. the treasury secretary said china will buy more agriculture as a goodwill gesture. >> it is very important to us they are back in the markets to buying a culture. they made those commitments to us. we want to see the commitments fulfilled. i wouldn't respect we'll resolve all the issues. the fact we're back at the table at the direction of the two presidents is important. reporter: back at the table but mnuchin would not confirm if the chinese will put back concessions they deleted from the agreement. the chinese also want to see tech sales to huawei again. commerce secretary wilbur

lawrence, breaking news on the china trade talks. edward? reporter: senior administration official confirmed with me that monday through wednesday of next week u.s. trade representative robert lighthizer and treasury secretary steve meeting with the chinese delegation. that meeting will take place in shanghai. the chinese asked the meeting knot be in beijing but shanghai next week. this comes as a result of phone conversations the two teams on july 9th and july 18th. at this point it is unclear if the chinese will put back concessions they removed. topic of conversation would be huawei. they would like them removed from the blacklist before they add in any concessions to the trade deal. face-to-face conversations for the 12 round in person in shanghai will happen next week, monday through wednesday. charles? charles: edward, thank you very much. that news has markets at all-time highs right now. maybe not all-time highs or session highs. the senate, this is critical, the senate is expected to vote on the first-responders fund. the bill is expected to pass to compensate firefighters, police officer officers and other people that rescued others removing debris. it was held up by senators rand paul and mike lee. tha
