[ laughter ] >> reporter: i don't understand the rules. how is it played? >> you get a bunch of guys or gals and bocce is one of the oldest sports of all time. i think they played it like 5,000 years ago. we have like old balls over in the other restaurant. but when i was with the 9ers, i wanted to do something different then a golf tournament. there's a lot of great golf tournaments so in los gatos we started this event. and 15 years now running. i had some going on in detroit when i was there, as well. and i asked job to join me when i went to detroit to keep this tournament alive and well. we have 48 teams. >> reporter: how many people per team? >> six people per team. but we have all the pro teams from the area that have more than six. they come and go, people play for the 9ers or
