here's steve osunsami. >> reporter: their parents are furious. 9-year-old carter gray and his 7-year-old sister etta were flying as unaccompanied minors on frontier airlines in july. mom was waiting for hours at the airport. stormy weather was keeping flights from landing. shortly after midnight, the 9-year-old using another kid's phone messages his father that they are stuck in atlanta where the plane was diverted. still no word from frontier. >> i think i was starting to boil over after every minute going by. >> reporter: at 4:23 a.m. the kids text that they're in a hotel with five other children. five boys slept in one room and their son shared a room with a 14 year old he had just met. all this time, the parents haven't received a single phone call, message or update from frontier. no one asked their permission to put the kids in a hotel. the children were flown home safely the next morning. in a statement from frontier airlines, they say they were always attended with one of their supervisors and that they were in contact with their mother before they were moved. steve owes owes is

abc's steve osunsami is in atlanta this morning, and steve, police are not charging the shooter?, not at this point, michael. in fact, they say this is a case where the stand your ground law is working as intended. they say that the man who was killed picked a fight with the wrong uber driver. it's the dashboard video police say shows a textbook stand your ground case, what they say the law was meant for. uber driver robert westlake is in the middle of a fare when this pickup truck starts tailing him and pulls in front of him forcing him to stop. the man who jumps out is 34-year-old jason boek, who police say is in the middle of a fight with his girlfriend and thinks she is in the backseat of this uber. police say the girlfriend was still at this bar in dundee where the two were fighting and the young woman getting a ride is a stranger. >> i say something? >> you know i got a pistol? >> reporter: it happens quickly. you see boek threaten the driver. it appears to be a gun, but isn't. the driver who happens to be a recent police academy graduate and was carrying a firearm shoots h

the investigation is under way right now and abc's steve osunsami has the story. good morning, steve. >> reporter: good morning. a medical examiner confirms this victim was shot multiple times. this july shooting has pastors and the family accusing nashville police of racism. nashville prosecutors say they're releasing this surveillance video to put some more sunshine on this case. it's from a school near the public housing community where the incident began. 25-year-old daniel hambrick is seen running away from officer andrew delke who is also 25. >> we got one running male, black. long dreds. jean button-up shirt. >> reporter: hambrick is more than several feet away with his back turned to the officer when the policeman shoots. >> shots fired. suspect down. >> getting to the bottom of this is very important. it's equally important that while we pass time waiting for the investigation to be complete that we be patient. >> reporter: in a news conference the city's mayor wouldn't condemn or defend the officer who has not been charged. this all started with a traffic
