steve. our team coverage continues right now in patterson. >> he is in cedar key and i know it's been getting rougher there by the hour. >> reporter: good evening, guys. we're kind of standing in the middle of it. you can see the floodwater. that's the problem on cedar key. behind me is the marker that shows the water le 6 feet above the mean sea level here and they expect it to go as high as 11 feet above sea level. right now take a look downtown. there's some businesses that have flooded out. we can't even get to downtown at this point. there's a historic church over here just behind us. the water is lapping literally at the door of this church and we've seen some really heavy rain come by us right now. we are between bands at this time, but we've seen some really heavy wind and rain come onshore and it's been pushing all of this water as the eye of north of us out in the gulf of mexico. we've been talking to some insurance deputies here. we've literally had to move our satellite truck three times tonight because of rising water. a couple of times we wanted to make sure that we got to safet

steve. county. people have been cleaning up the damage. jeff patterson rode out the storms last night in a hotel flooded by the tidal surge. he joins us now from a condo that also suffered significant damage. high jeff. >> reporter: good evening stacie. the damage on the first floor of the condo shows the re power of the storm surge. it crashed into this condominium and our hotel just down the street. the people here at cedar key have been pick today. as wind and rain hammered cedar key from hermine, waves started to rise from the gulf. in the daylight, we found docks at the marina torn apart by the storm. debris filled the streets and people working to clean it up. >> just trying to pick up debris that floated off the front porch and side porch. and random things here and hat store and tried to riped out the storm in his store. staying in the store turned out to be a bad idea. >> it was a heck of the night. when the water got five deep, we crawled up into the attic. a buddy of mine who happens to be the mayor called me saying what are you guys doing? i
