but first we start with meteorologist steve paulson tracking the storm in the ktvu weather center. busy day. >> busy day. started early their morning as the system came in. it was a good cold front. the by-product of that. we have a two-hour break. we have a few thunderstorms especially out towards rio vista and discovery bay. i think there will be more later on. the secondary piece of the cold air is beginning to move in, especially in the north bay. it started on the marin/sonoma coast. there is a line between novato and petaluma. but a stronger one in guerneville, calistoga, lake county, mendocino county. a couple of lightning strikes reported off the mendocino coast. that's the next band moving in. out towards eastern solano, contra costa county, things are beginning to develop as that system also starts moving into napa county, near bethel island just now east of rio vista and french camp. not much, a little line forming southward. what we're waiting for is what's swinging in. that could give us a round of showers also possible thundershowers. we sent him north. i don't get a

it says it's raining in gilroy and they cc'ed steve paulson. in case you just arrived in the bay area, that means it's raining hard. in gilroy it's been raining in the east bay. we are looking at the mccarthur maze. you can see a lot of slow traffic. we've had a couple of different crashes around this area. really too many crashes to mention but the general thing is leave early but it looks like some of the rain has stopped here. let's move along and take a look at the commute. you can see it's very, very slow getting into san francisco. i do want to mention we do have a crash in oakland. northbound 880 with most of the lanes blocked it is a sig alert. a big rig crash northbound 880. look at all of this slow traffic. it is at a standstill. do not use 880 use westbound 580. we almost mention that truck accident is still very slow. you can see look at all the red from pleasanton heading on town because people are starting to take a look at that truck crash which is on the northbound side but southbound is just atrocious there. 6:48 let's go to st

steve paulson has your forecast and the very latest. >> a lot of fog out there. we're back to a summer pattern. it looks like a june gloom has settled in. inland temps will come down. there is a rather strong, strong delta breeze which is onshore, which means it's out of the west-southwest. thunderstorms popping up out of the sierra. they collapse at night due to the lack of lift or heat. they will be back. some of those might play into our forecast, wednesday, thursday. right now, today and tomorrow, it's a lot of fog and drizzle. san francisco, much of the coast and the bay, upper 50s, low 60s. a lot of low clouds around and you see the thunderstorm activity right over the sierra. that really will pop up again later today. if you are up there, keep an eye on the sky. 50s on the temps. but this is the key. the delta breeze had gusts to 31 at travis. cordelia, a rather onshore breeze as well. a lot of toking to go around -- a lot of fog to go around. windy, san pablo bay, carquinez strait, the delta, san mateo, sfo later. not so much right now. 70s or many. 50s a

let's check with steve paulson on our weather. it's kind of cold outside the doors. >>> a little chilly. it's quiet. we do have some 30s popping up. heard from frank. san ansell mow, 38 degrees -- anselmo, 38 degrees. the dew points are up. a lot of moisture in the air. about 38 to had -- to 42. 49 in san francisco to start. 59 and 65 for a high today. except for the higher clouds, there's a slow spinning out. that's where it will stay. it won't impact us except for the higher clouds. mostly sunny today. but just gradual warming on the temps. fairfield is in there, santa rosa, novato was at one time 39. livermore made it to 40. haven't seen anything else. half moon bay, 43. patchy fog at best. it will be a mostly sunny day. slightly warmer. i will get on my toes. just a little bit. upper 60s to near 70 degrees. all right. sal, one issue. that was earlier. anything new? >> you got a message from frank. the matuccis are famous. >> he's a very good man. he sends me wonderful weather information. >> good morning, everyone. those of yo

steve paulson has been -- you have been busy. >>> a little bit. not too bad. it's cool out there.e's still a few showers popping up. again, around the san mateo bridge down towards san jose, east san jose, so we're not done yet. there is a definite chill to the morning air. it's brisk out there. fresh, as we like to say. you can see some of that. a little there south of slrd, hayward, fremont, milpitas, newark. there was a pretty good sell that went by. alum rock, evergreen, east san jose, still a couple holding on. they are cruising down from the north-northwest. we're on the back side of this. almost done. not yet. we'll leave them in for one more day. had a lot of 30s. tonight, tomorrow, if we can get the breeze to tail off and maybe some of that humidity, get drier air in, could have critical minimums tomorrow. we'll be on that for tomorrow. i think more of a northerly breeze, but the low did its job. a lot of -- a lot of snow in the sierras. a mix of fog, sun and clouds. partly sunny, mostly cloudy. staying cool and breezy. there will be a few isolated showers today. 50s and
