the other would have to be steve scalise, the majority leader, has top lieutenant, and a fellow louisianantwo have known each other for decades and skill ease has guided him. johnson has sort of followed scalise's path all the way from lsu to the state legislature in baton rouge up to capitol hill and through the leadership ranks. those are some of the names. he has also, the new speaker has also forged close relationships with some of the senate rebels, folks like ron johnson, mike lee, rick scott, the folks that are not really in mitch mcconnell's inner circle but who are of the conservative wing and mike johnson has been in close contact with those conservative senators, and you know, in terms of big issues like ukraine funding and the border. and so, it's been interesting to see who he has surrounded himself with, who has the new speaker's ear, and he certainly is adding staff, new aids, not only some former trump white house officials, but some leadership staffers from kevin mccarthy's office, from scully's's office -- steve scalise's office. interesting to see who he's surrounded him
