steven spielberg's the bfg. big friendly giant. irectors of all time. now he's taking on the 1982 classic the bfg. written so many famous books including matilda, james and the giant beach. fantastic mr. fox. also charlie and the chocolate factory. this film is dealing with mark rylance who plays the big friendly giant. here he's playing a giant who is 25 feet tall, digitally. what they do is he performed the performance with motion capture and they capture it all and that's why his face looks so photo realistic. you're seeing his performance come through the digital character. this character of the giant becomes young friends with a young girl. it's a beautiful story with great themes, great visuals. the 2d version is the version you want to see. it is so well done and so imagined. it reminded me of the feeling i had when i watched et. that's what spielberg has done here again. john williams' music is fantastic. it is well done and i gave it a 4 out of 5. i think this is spielberg's best film along with a little film called bridge
