ktvu's david stevenson is live with why new technology could spawn different type of crime. david? >> reporter: that's right. even as they showed off new security features some say it may not be enough to stop cell phone thefts. >> i keep it close to my body. tighter grip. >> reporter: it is not always enough according to police who say 50% or more of the robberies involve cell phones. >> it is an absolute enterprise, if you will, the market of the phones. >> reporter: the district attorney says makers bear some of the blame. he called in a task force to try out new security software. and making stolen phones worthless. it included software that could lock the phone and erase the data and an act vacation lock that requires a password to use the stolen device. >> the idea is to make -- prevent the phone from working. >> reporter: they said we play to explore opportunities for further enhancements to our solution. they warn even if it is a success there will still be a huge market for parts. >> they will pull the screen, the batteries, anything they could resell and you will see thos

reporting live, david stevenson, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> police in san mateo are looking for the man who committed lewd acts on a child in a barnes & noble bookstore. the on the left here is a screech. on the right is a surveillance video still shot of the man who was in the store sunday, june 23rd around 3:00. the surveillance shows the man walking down a corridor and then luring a 10-year-old girl to an isolated area. police say he then exposed himself to that little girl and also had inappropriate physical contact with her. he was seen getting into a dirty black or gray four door parking lot. anyone with information is asked to call police. >>> a woman who said she was raped and robbed at outside's music festival in san francisco has now filed a lawsuit against the organizer of the event. in that lawsuit the woman says she was assaulted in a wooden area of golden gate park and did not get any help from security. three women reported being sexually assaulted during last year's festival. organizers have not commented on the lawsuit but have said safety is their top concern. >>> over

. >>> reporting live in san francisco, david stevenson, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> more sexual abuse charges were filed today against a ymca worker under suspicion of molesting a child. 28-year-old limone worked as a soccer coach. he was arrested earlier this month for alleged lewd acts with a 6-year-old girl and possession of child pornography. detectives determined there were two more victims one of them a 5-year-old girl. >> he took sexually explicit photographs of her. detectives were able to corroborate this evidence by retrieving those unmistakable, unclothed images from his cell phone. >> reporter: investigators say earlier this week they expect to file charges involving a 7- year-old girl who was also allegedly molested. >> to get an idea why the ymca was so blind sided by the arrest of limon. elizabeth jordan said when lhermine was hired he passed a background check which is required for every employee that would be working with children. he also passed a background check by the state which is part of the ymca hiring process. lhermine went through two interviews as well as a 30 hour
