. >> reporter: morgan state university and stevenson universities are both small campuses not that far from one another. tonight the student bodies of both are mourning the loss of one of their own. two universities struggling from the loss of their own students, both died in this one crash. 23-year-old julian benson from morgan state and 18 year old zoey crumpton from stevenson university died after their cars collided late thursday night. the effects of which will last much longer than the damage still visible here at the corner of bank and broadway. >> it is a tremendous loss. sadness is the only way to describe it. >> reporter: julian benson was a star here at morgan. he was mr. morgan last year involved in a mentoring program and was very popular on campus. >> tremendous. you check social networks, you hear student feedback. it is heartbreaking. >> reporter: freshman nursing student at stevenson university, zoey crumpton was in the other car. she died last night, as well. she, just a few weeks into her goal of becoming a pediatric nurse to work with children. >> just about 6 or 7
