stewart. mr. stewart is not only a father to some, he's an uncle, he's a mentor, a big brother. he looks like a deacon every day, comes dressed for success. i've never been to a school to whereas the children for halloween dress up like mr. stewart instead of their favorite rapper, actor, basketball, football player. mr. stewart has been accepted to u.c. berkeley for a principal's program and there is going to be some type of conflict with his schedule for that, and being a teacher, but he's willing to make those sacrifices and put his family on the back burner for 18 months and be a teacher to our kids and we're told that that's not good enough. what would you want to see? him be a principal and then we have kids wanting to be like mr. stewart, noonly -- not only a teacher, but a principal growing up. i want to know if y'all could come to carver just to hear the concerns. whatever's good for you, we will make you at home there. we are family over there. but that's one teacher that we do need to keep on board because he's about the children. he goes to therapists to speak to the

she scraped the side of the building here at this apartment on stewart and sacramento in berkeley. and then the car kept going and hit a support beam holding up this staircase. and she kept going and drove down, you can see some of the tracks on the grass. and then out on the street. now police did catch up with her a few blocks away and she was arrested. when i spoke to police dispatchers this morning, they say this started around 2:00 a.m., although they were not able to tell me exactly why it started. police came out here for a security check. they didn't tell us what happened immediately after police arrived. but at some point, a person appeared to be intent on fleeing police. she hit the support beam and that's some of the damage. firefighters did come out to check out the support beam and make sure the building was sound. there's about six apartment units behind us. and police did catch up with the driver on california. she was arrested. but again, at this point, police aren't able to tell us what she was arrested for or why she was trying to flee police. we went to headquart

i was contacted by the stewart collection, a sculpture collection in san diego, and this was in the back of my mind. they were interested in an idea. so we started looking for the largest boulders we could find. i had them stand and created 3d models of the boulders and then put it into a bear form, which was then engineered on the campus. there he is getting his head. 23 feet tall, weighing 180 ton. continuing to think about these stacked stones. a native american figure of stacked stones. a trail marker here that you're on the right path. i was thinking about ebenezer. in hebrew, it translates to stone of hope. samuel erected a stone as a sign of god's promise. here you see a male figure. all of these images were in the back of my head when jill contacted me. there is a drawn from an italian painter from the renaissance. so i had these images in my head. i was interested in putting a figure together, perhaps from concrete. jill mentioned this ramp was going to be demolished. it seemed like an ideal point to start with. here we have a slightly earlier rendition of my design. if we could
