they did some really marvelous things, mostly by building tunnels in places like stockton street, 26, and the cut through to allow street cars to move quickly to various neighborhoods. an interesting statistic is that the daily volume of muni is > bart, golden gate transit, but if they said it, it's probably a fact. the number of people to take muni per day is astonishing. we're moving a lot of people on a given day. one interesting statistic is we have a portion of muni, the metro system. it has six different lines, and two of those lines, i'm not sure which ones, each carry more volume individually than the entire santa clara valley transit authority like whale system in the south bay. how there is one down there, but nobody rides it. ballpoint of this exercise is to make the public aware and talk to your representatives at the state and federal level and let's get funding where people use transit, and that is in san francisco. let's try to, and a spirit of was done many years ago, explore the idea of more transit in its own right of way. the ability to move people quickly other tha

what i was able to come up with is two spaces on post street, post at stockton just in front of the levi'slding. i have a map that may work. right above there would be union square. there is currently permitted hot dog vendor on the corner. those two spaces, i was asking for four, but i dealt with the management of levi's and the hot dog vendor. we settled on two. i think the artists would be glad to have them. they would be good spaces. i am asking that they not be permanent. these would be temporary for the designation of only six months. if we still cannot get back the seven spaces in six months, i will come back and ask for a continuation of a number -- another temporary designation. it is not a plan to try to make these permanent basis. i want to assure you of that. these two spaces meet all of your public safety regulations. a street artist space cannot be within 10 feet of the outer edge of a doorway or entranceway. a street artist must maintain at least 8 feet of pedestrian passageways between the street artist and the opposite building. this actually allows for a 11 feet. both of

stockton. they wanted to come to the mission district and go to 24th street. i was a little hesitant. i thought, maybe we should be of to showcase our communities and our culture. so we took them down. spent about an hour and a half. they had dinner here. did not see any police presence. but let me tell you what i did see. i do not see any crime, and we felt safe. i think that is the result of the fact that we have got a chief who has done some amazing work. he did it when he was here as the captain. we watched him carefully. when he was in the bay view, he did the same thing. chief suhr does not just spell community policing, he lives it every day. under his command and under captain corrales' command, we have the type of community policing that gives people that have worked in the mission district entire life the confidence and trust in the officers. because when you saw these guys, it is because folks in the committee stepped forward and said i know what happened, i saw what happened, and i know you need to speak to. you cannot do without the involvement of the community. i want to

the have a street-long distance to walk in order to get to the building. they are carrying fans. they are going to wait at stockton. it will take 15 or 20 minutes to wait for the bus. when the catch the bus, they do not want to pay another $2. but they are carrying things. i like what is happening to the city. there is a good aspect to that. but there is also an economic impact on a certain segment of society. i know the gentleman said they see everybody riding a bike. i do not see everybody riding a bike. i see young people, the vast majority from 20 to 35 years old that are riding bikes. i do see people starting to buy small bikes to ride to their parking lot. a fella came in a wheelchair and missed his stop. he was talking to the driver and said i had to get off. this does not go all the way back fourth anymore. this guy who had a 20-minute medical appointment, he let everyone know, went down the rest of fourth street and turn down harrison and went another two blocks and went another block and a half before he could get off. there was no way he would make his appointment. harrison is a huge street. it takes fo
