another storm tracking to the northeast towards happy jack. notice there's quite a bit of red in the storms and they are producing pockets of heavier rain. if you're in happy jack, it's going to be a bit of a downpour. and we have dangerous lightning with it too. and watch for strong winds as the storms roll through. again, they are tracking northeast, moving away phoenix metro. and just because the valley is quiet now doesn't mean we're in the clear. we have a chance for storms today. we're tracking an area of low pressure out to the west. that area of low pressure was what brought us the boost in moisture initially yesterday. it's reason we saw storms across the east valley. we're still pulling in the moisture and you can see it on the water vapor imagery. there's also drier air that's so today with the moisture still in place. our storm chances are still in play. once the drier air moves in tomorrow. we'll start to clear out the storm chances and bring back the abundant sunshine. still watch for the storms on the mogollon rim. that's the bes

storm newton is racing towards our state. i pulled up the water vapor imagery. it's in mexico right now and racing to the north, northeast. and it is tracking straight towards southern arizona, possibly will enter our state as a weak tropical storm. tucson, timing-wise, expecting it to arrive between 10:00 and noon. it could come a little bit earlier. ahead of it you can see all of that moisture in the green. that's worked its way into our state and we're already seeing showers ahead of the main storm system. some of them now impacting the valley too. you'll notice a few over the estrellas. seeing a few of the scattered showers, not a lot of yet. also a few showers down south of good year. and we have more to the south in maricopa. these showers and storms tracking to the west as they are part of the outer bands of the main system. and we'll talk about where the main system is heading and who will see the biggest impacts today. >>> you could see some rain on the 60 or the 202. have to worry about. and valley-wide you'll see the same conditions, including i- 16. this is at 7th avenue. if southbound side is a little bit busier. this is past t

here's the storm tracking. t had a huge one and it will come in from the north and that's a dry track and it won't have a lot of moisture to work with and by tuesday right over the bay area. we could even see some thunderstorms across the money chance and lake tahoe as the system pulls out late tuesday night and wednesday. a look at what i'm talking about. for tuesday, a little bit closer to that day. still notice some showers across parts of the santa cruz mountains. that's where i think it has the best chance of anything widespread, across the higher elevations and down towards gilroy and san martin and holster and then tuesday morning, after the rain moves through, we're done with that. tuesday afternoon though our attention turns to the sierra for thunderstorm activity. here's how much rain we're expecting to get. not a huge amount. the system is going to be really starved for any kind of moisture. we may get about a tenth of an inch or less for coastal locations, including san francisco and really right alo

and a slow-moving storm affecting multiple days at the beach. we're seeing the track of the storm now starting in the gulf of mexico. and generally heading into florida. and then up the east coast. at least inland of the east coast. there's the center of the storm. and as we go through the next couple of days, take a look at a couple of things. the new track just in minutes ago from the hurricane center. 80-mile-an-hour max winds late tonight, 60-mile-an-hour max winds even while it's inland. friday afternoon. 50-mile-an-hour max winds even when it exits north carolina. so it could still be a tropical storm, maybe extra tropical, or a combination, but it doesn't matter, 50-mile-an-hour wind, with a big storm and a lot of rain, that's a significant storm. and this is the latest track. sunday, monday, tuesday, not moving very much. just spinning around offshore, and that's going to keep spinning in winds and churning up the waves. here's the latest future radar. you can see by saturday morning, just starting to get a little bit of light rain in southern delaware. but by
