i feel like the story be upended. so i have a little story.may i offer you just just on a date myself quickly. you mentioned 58 hours and 68 paid ashbury spent eight months there in haight-ashbury a lot of free time, a lot of experiment. so thank you so. so my little my little story was about the first days of covid. and i was on my exercise bike and pedaling away when my knee went out. and i'm used to being a horse galloping through life and all of a sudden i had this sense that it was like i had a turtle on my knee. and that turtle was saying slow down. and listen. so that's my offering from this time is. how can i or any of us have that taking time to listen to ourselves, listen to each other, listen to nature and the wisdom of nature. so that's my little story for this evening. slow down. listen, i invest in for so many people they'd like to. but time is money and there's immigrant parents here working 3.3 jobs to keep a roof over their kids heads. and it's not because they love work so much. it's that because they love their kids so much.

and learning about their story, this incredible story which is just a page turner in and of itself, 60 pages long or short and it tells of their incredible travels from georgia to philadelphia and beyond and the twists and turns in the story are amazing and conjure the moments. and reading this, about this extraordinary adventure i felt now i can identify this because there's a new book about this and i was reading about the book. the sensation that i thought, i am in this space that elicits this and felt both the hugeness of their journey and smallness of myself. and i felt deeply like i wanted to know more. i was moved by the losses they told us, the journey in many ways begins with a love they experienced with theirn family members and ellen with her mother and william with his parents and his siblings each of whom was stolen from them. so i reflected deeply but also wanted to learn more so they say in the beginning of this narrative that they are not going to tell the full story of their lives they are just going to tell a piece of it and there's good reason for this because at the

i had the personal story. i had me as a narrator, you know, the personal story of missouri or going in search of all of these answers. and i had the story of anna, so i knew i had these three threads and what i what i literally did was i also had an aha moment on this too. i have no idea why where it came from, but i envisioned the story on like a roll of white poster paper or like the kind you get down at, you know, the book store and i envisioned it like on this roll of paper just unfolding over time with these like chapters that were had the price of oil on them. and, and then i could see like anna's story was this teal blue ribbon ran through all of every single chapter in some way or the other. and, and then i could see, you know, me as the narrator walking you through these places and people going, you know, looking over my shoulder in the archives as i'm finding these records about her. and then i could see how there was a story about an oil boom and and and riches and, and how that connected to climate
