sam stoval from s&p. wane wilbanks also joining us. and our very own rick santelli. i'm just going to ask a very simple question to you, sam. how much further can this market go? >> hey, mandy. well, i think if you look at valuations, the market could end up moving up to about the 1670 up to the 1700 plus level. whether you look to projected trailing gap operating results, i think that we're still trading below where we should be. especially in this kind of a low inflationary environment. >> is this still a cheap market for you at this point? >> well, it was. but now we're neutrally ranked. we were overweight equities. at this point, we don't think we're getting very well paid for taking on the risk. so what you're looking at here is you've been riding and surfing a wave of limquidity courtesy of all the global central banks. 80% of earnings have come in this quarter. revenues, down close to 1%. earnings up 4%. this is not one of these inflection points here where we would be overweight equities. we'd be moving up the quality spectrum at this point. >> what's up in t

sam stovall of s&p. thanks so much. >> my pleasure, ashley.irman and ceo jamie dimon getting a vote of confidence from the bank's shareholders. adam shapiro is in tampa, florida, with the latest. >> that's right. the people who wanted the shareholders voting in favor of the split of the ceo and the chairman's role were never, they say, against jamie dimon. they want him to concentrate solely on being the ceo. well that number of people, those shareholders had roughly 32.2% in favor of the slit split. that was less than 42% that voted in favor of a split in 2012. we spoke with mike mayo of sla, he told us one there is tremendous performance underjamie dimon. value of the stock, no need to tell you is at a 12 year high today. stock is trading up just under 2%. this according to some people might tarnish dimon's reputation. >> the stock price performance under jamie dimon as ceo is better than that of any large bank ceo. but that is the last seven years. the real question is the next seven years, did jamie dimon get too complacent. did the board

. >> and that's from robert stovall, the guy who put that in there. >> i know bob very well. >> very lot of it still holds. you remain bullish still. how come? >> well, it was almost a year and a half ago. i said, looking at valuation, looking at past patterns, we were going to end 2014 between 16 and 17,000 on the dow. there's nothing in the last year and a half that has made me change that opinion. the fact that we may be a couple months closer to the end or tapering of qe does not concern me. the fed is only going to tighten if they see strength in the economy and that's got to be good for corporate earnings. so that's not the end, by a long shot, of this bull market. >> but nothing goes up in a straight line, or in your world, jeremy, does it? do you see us getting to the 17,000 in a straight line, or do you see any potential for a significant correction in the meantime? >> well, we had trend followers. we had momentum players jump off. i think in japan, particularly. you know, you ride the trend. and you set very, very close stops. and it's 1% below. i'm out. i have my profit. w

. >> let's talk about it all in today's closing bell exchange with sam stovall, dan i hughes from divine capital. uri landerson, i'm going to start with you, our resident bear, on this panel. still? even at these levels? >> yeah. absolutely. actually, more at these levels. because the market's more expensive. so i don't think there's much more than a couple of percent up for the rest of the year. i think we could go as low as 1400 in the dog days of summer. >> why? what's going to be the catalyst to get people to say, okay, enough is enough, i want to be a seller here when we know the federal reserve is still buying $85 billion worth of bonds every month? >> i think that might have to taper off a little bit. it's going to be more i think the view that expectations, growth expectations in the market are unachievable given what's going to happen in the economy. >> dani, you think earnings are going to support this kind of a market, though, right? >> going forward. we think so. there's a couple of reasons for this. let's not forget that earnings growth for some of these large s&p 500 compan

we'll talk to sam stovall later in the show from s&p looking for 8% to 10%, either adding shoulders on double top. investors will be increasingly intolerant of economic data point misses. >> we still have good ones -- let me tell you, in my years, one thing you don't want to get caught up in is when you see stocks like barnes & noble or tesla or green mountain, stocks heavily shorted, when they're up very big that's not an early part of the move. that's kind of late in the game. but that said, wow, people at salt, the people at ira sohn, they like to short. names heavily shorted are names that are really ripping today. >> david, what's this sound like from people are you talking to? >> much of the same conversation we have every morning with the same fears, carl. you're not hearing that much that you haven't heard in the past. it is sometimes interesting because when you get out and meet some of these hedge fund managers, many emerging managers, others with significant assets, a lot of them are running large credit portfolios. that's where a great deal of alpha has been generated over
