stuart varney joins me now. he is the host of "varney & company" on the fox business network. stuart, good morning. that's a tough chart. >> yes, it is a tough chart. it paints a picture of real distress in middle america. buying power down, our standard of living falling and hardship, hardship right there in the middle of america is actually give gettingous. -- getting worse. let me give you key number. from the start of the obama administration the median household income in america has fallen, repeat, fallen, down around $4,000. we've not seen this kind of decline over a long period of time, three, four years, we have not seen this before. if you go further and look at the hardship picture we find this year a half million people, actually more than a half million people flat-out dropped out of the workforce. they quit looking for work. they're out of the workforce. and another 736,000 people have gone on social security disability this year. add it up all together, declining income, more people on disability. far more people on food stamps, 12 million more on food stamps, th
