suisun city firefighters faced a grass fire saturday---but quickly put it out as it was threatening anear fairfield on friday and rapidly scorched more than a thousand acres of land. the fire prompted the bay area quality management district to issue a smoke advisory that has since been lifted. kron 4's alecia reid has an update on the extent of fire damage. >> reporter: as far as your eyes can see, what used to be grassland is now black char. the suisun fire captain tells us the half fire spread 1500 acres. >> by the time the units got back in there the fire was on the other side. >> reporter: the blaze melted tiresand ate away at vehiclesthis is what's left of a truckand this.was once a tractor trailer >> the worst is actually over there. the farmer got hit the worst. >> there were some equipment around the barn that got damaged 6-7 tractors, some vehicles, an rv. >> reporter: the hay barn is burnt to a crisp. the fire started off highway 12, and with winds up to 50 miles per hour, quickly spread over the mountain. the farmer was able to save his livestock, but not much else. >> he
