we're here on suitland road near the suitland federal center.re's a pawnshop here and a dry cleaner over there where you see the neon lights and right in that alley that's we'll take you to some of the videotape now. it was a very large scene and police say when they got the call, it was initially for a they got here, they found that it, indeed, was a double homicide. one man was dead in the alley, another ran into the popeye's for assistance. there they also called for help as well. apparently two prince george's county police officers responded to the scene and applied what they call trauma kits. that victim who was inside the popeye's rushed to the hospital but didn't survive. people gathered at the scene as word of the shooting circulated trying to find out who was killed. now, police have not yet released the names of the two investigators still [inaudible] assistance from the public asking anyone with information about the victims or some of the circumstances to please call crime solvers. this is now the ninth and tenth homicide here in pr

fox5's matt ackland is live tonight in suitland with the very latest. matt. >> reporter: shawn you're right this was a brutal crime and we're told that detectives started working around the clock once they got that 911 call from the woman who said that she had been raped here near the metro station. also, the police are telling us that they have video from that bus that shows the victim and suspect on the bus. authorities say this started about 2:00 p.m. at the suitland metro station. the victim was on the bus and so was the suspect. court documents reveal the man followed the woman home. he then gained entry into her apartment after he knocked on her front door. he struck her in the face several times, grabbed her by the neck and then police say he forced her on the bed where he raped her. >> she called us about 2:40 in the a thankfully soon after the event happened and we were able to get the investigation going right weigh which is why we were able to track down the suspect and just over 24 hours -- i mean identify him and put him in custody. >> repo

melanie alnwick live at the scene in suitland with the latest.ood morning, mel. >> reporter: good morning. that caused some of the confusion here on the scene, because when prejudice county police came here initially they put out information that it was a single hmm side. then coming here finding that one of the victims had gone to the pop eyes restaurant shortly there after. it became a couple homicide. let's take to you some of the video from the scene. you can see a very large police response here on silver hill road. it happened about 7:30 last night. so we had in a way two scenes. one in an alley in between a pawn shop and a dry cleaners. that is where one victi found dead. pronounced on the scene. the second victim who ran to the popeye's came -- ran there to get help and prince george's county fire and rescues went and responded there. also two prince george's county police officers who were close to the scene came and applied what they call trauma kits. that man was rushed to the hospital but did not survive. as wore of the shootings circ
