we have dan sullivan. he's out in the hallway. he's waiting for a news organization to make the call. the alaska dispatch news has not done that. our people have all gone home back in new york so they're not going to call this race. we're waiting for him to take the podium. he'll be taking it in about five minutes i've been told but mathematically it looks like dan sullivan will be elected to the u.s. senate. we're waiting for some rural votes out in the bush of alaska and also some anchorage votes that haven't been counted yet. no one has called this race and mark isn't going to concede because he put a huge effort into getting that alaska rural vote out. he had campaign offices throughout the northern part of alaska. the rural part of alaska. he believes those numbers are break for him so he's not going to concede until those votes are counted and once 100% of the precincts have been counted you have 15 to 20% of the total vote has not been counted because they're absentee ballots. but everyone around here in the sullivan campai

the race is the senate race between mark begich and dan sullivan. this appears to be the republican sullivan's race to lose. he is up in most of the polls. turnout shows it should be favorable to his positions and we expect that this race will be decided. there will not be a runoff. the question is when. the polls close here in alaska at 8:00 local time which is midnight back on the east coast. they won't be counting the ballots until 1:00 a.m. it will be a long day of voting and long night of waiting while the nation waits to see if this is one of those pivotal senate races. the issue here is the governor race. the incumbent governor is in trouble. he is facing the challenge from the independent, but republican leaning challenger. also we have two ballot measures. one which would raise the minimum wage up $2 over the next two years. that looks like it is headed for passage and tighter race over whether or not alaska should allow recreational use of marijuana. all that decided today. a very long, cold, but clear day in most of alaska. back to you. >
