connor sullivan was last seen monday morning. kpix 5's christian hartnett on the areas that they have been targeting. christian. >> reporter: volunteers were out this morning walking up and down streets visiting streets where connor was at around monte vista high school. they have covered two-thirds. city but no sign of him not even one clue. search teams get their marching orders and hit the pavement. 90 volunteers spending a fourth day passing out flyers and looking for 17-year-old connor sullivan. >> i can put myself in their position and i would want everybody to be looking for my son or daughter. and i just can't imagine what they are going through. >> reporter: the cross-country athlete at monte vista high school vanished after first period monday morning. the santa clara sheriff's office doesn't suspect foul play. but everyone who knows connor says his disappearance is completely out of character. >> it's very unusual for connor. he is a steady kid, um, hard working, great student, very unusual. >> reporter: some of connor

sounds like 17-year-old connor sullivan spent those four days here in cupertino. some of the time right here at monta vista high school. this is the school that he attends. hiding out on campus some of the time before finally deciding to return home last night. this is according to the sheriff's office who also tells us that sullivan sustained himself by eating fruit off of local trees and relying on a port o. potty on campus. he attended first period monday morning and then just walked off the school grounds not to be heard from or seen again for another 80 hours or so. volunteers spent monday through thursday looking for him. their search covered more than half the city of cupertino. he hill well enough not to be found during that time. as i mentioned, returned to his parents at the family home last night which is just a couple minutes' drive from the high school. his father immediately called the sheriff's office. the so said that sullivan's decision to run away monday morning was spontaneous, that he had been stressed about school but they also noted that is n

police say 17-year-old connor sullivan returned late last night. but they did not go into any further details about what happened. sullivan was last seen at his first period class at monta vista high school, but missed his remaining classes and did not show up for track practice. practice. hundreds of volunteers searched for him near the school and that nearby malls and hospitals. >>> antioch students and parents are being urged to be on the lookout this morning. after an elementary school student said a stranger tried to lure him into a trot. the fifth-grader says that happened yesterday morning. as he was walking to bell shot elementary school. shortly after 8:30 a.m. the school principal sent a letter to parents letting them know about the incident. the principal says the man tried to lure the boy into his truck repeatedly until the boy ran to the school's front gate. the boy describes the stranger as a clean shaven asian man in his 30s, driving a red two-door toyota truck. this is the second incident in the area this week. on monday, a student

connor sullivan showed up for his first-period class, but then disappeared. abc 7 news reporter chris nguyen joins us. >> reporter: it's been a long day for both the family and volunteers and some of those volunteers have been searching for connor since 8:00 this morning and we are live this afternoon at monty vista high school. you can see the group that has assembled here to show their support for the sullivan family. this search effort being coordinated by the cupertino emergency response team. as we show you some video from earlier, volunteers have been checking out local neighborhoods and going door to door trying to spread the word about the missing 17-year-old boy and they were also out at the fremont open space reserve and the dam and reservoir which are two places that connor had been known to go running. he was last seen at monty vista high school and administrators say he attended his first-period class on monday and failed to show up at his classes and back that day. we spoke to connor's parents who said this was very out of character for their so
