clearing fremont, you had some heavy rain there and then rain approaching sunnyvale. as we go into the noon hour, right about 12:00, that should be reaching milpitamilpitas. this is not a very heavy downpour but still some rain. south san jose getting in on some rain while downtown san jose is dry at this point. and then you go down 101, gilroy, you're getting some down pours. also the tri-valley. now you're getting a break. livermore, a few more minutes and then the rain will be done there. rain off and on throughout the day. here's a look at the bigger picture as we see the area of low pressure still spinning across the region. it will bring in more rounds of rain until this slowly moves its way inland by tomorrow evening. and the rain slowly tapers off. we have enough energy. some small hail possible as we get a look at san jose. you can see the clouds in the distance but not raining right here as of now. and then we go around the bay area. we've been tracking the down pours and the breaks in between. it is a busy friday. at least it's not raining there. and then w

a homeless shelter in sunnyvale will extend its operations from six months .... to year- round. santa clara county board of supervisors voted unanimously to spend more than one- point- one million dollars to make the change at the 'home-first' shelter on hamlin court in sunnyvale.. it is now the county's second shelter to open year- round - along with one in san jose.
