let's start with governor sununu, actually.ives, perhaps, of some of the lesser known republicans considering jumping in the race. talk to us, though, about the uphill climb someone like he faces considering the poll we just showed where governor desantis who's not a lesser name, who's widely considereded the most formidable challenger to trump is getting crushed in that poll and many others we're seeing across the nation. >> you know, jonathan, it's really interesting because i think a lot of this polling sort of mirrors the problem that republicans had in 2022 where in primaries a lot of these more i don't want to say moderate republicans but maybe more mainstream, more establishment republicans like a governor sununu, for example, don't do as well in primaries, but they seem to be doing better in general elections, and that's going to be an issue for republicans up and down the ballot this coming election. they're going to have to find a way to really explain to republican primary voters that they need to keep that general e

geoff: governor chris sununu, david, had a chance to interview him. not concerned about the number of republicans who decide to run in this race. the question is about if the are too many republicans in the field, does that benefit donald trump? he said the republicans have to know when to get out. how does that strike you? david: it is a lot harder in practice. if you are running for president, you are raising a ton of money. you build up these were chests and a couple of weeks go by, it does not look good. do you want to look at your donors and say, sorry, you wasted your money. you are not allowed to give the money back and you are supposed to spend it that election cycle. it is hard to withdraw because you have that pot of money. the and stink is to stay in -- instinct is to stay in. because it is structurally hard to get out because of is fundraising reason, a lot of them will face the temptation to stay in longer than they should. that will split the field. i think it is a real problem for anyone who does not want donald trump to be their nomine

she got the second highest grade, second only to governor sununu of new hampshire. in 2022, she continued on with her tax reforms and got the highest grade. governor reynolds has put together the most impressive set of tax reforms in years. she put in place occupational licensing reforms. she has initiatives this year to reform regulations in iowa, to restructure iowa government, to reduce the number of agencies, as well as school choice reforms which we will be talking about with the governor. on the tax reforms, as jean mentioned, the governor started her drive in 2018 with cuts to the top income tax rate and corporate tax rate. as jean mentioned, the top individual rate will drop from 8.9% down to just a 3.9% flat tax. on the corporate side, the rate dropped from 12% to 5%. what motivated you or inspired you to do this series of reforms? >> the great thing about republican governors is we are very competitive. chris has challenged me to let me know he is going after that number one spot next year, which means i am going to have to continue to cut taxes for iowans
