governor sununu, i want to ask you about the news this weekend. we saw former president trump was just endorsed by south dakota's republican governor kristi noem. by any count he's up to i think four republican endorsements. do you anticipate more republican governors getting online, getting on board with trump? you know republican governors. you -- you are one. >> i do. look. my sense is there's a lot of governors sitting on the sidelines saying, how does this all play out? just like most of the republican base is, like, there's a lot of time to go. we've only had one debate. we're just starting to talk about the issues. the candidates are really on the ground. the fact that the former president trump is a former president, the leader of the party, and he doesn't even really have 50% of the republican base support tells you there's a real problem there. that's actually an incredibly low number. so you have all these other candidates out there, seven or eight of them at this point. that field's going to keep winnowing down, and that other candidat

chris sununu. governor sununu, good to see you. charlie sykes of the bulwark called this the, quote, kids' table debate. did you see an adult in the room? if so who? >> sure, look, it was very chippy. there's no doubt about that. i've been on those debate stages before. it's a very big temptation to start talking over and making your point and all that. but there was actually a discipline and a benefit to holding back. and i think everyone wished it happened more. i thought desantis did very well. he was able to hit trump a little bit and kind of stick to his guns about what made him kind of that second-place contender to donald trump. i think nikki haley did very well. there's no doubt about it. she showed she doesn't get rattled if you try to take a shot at her and she's not afraid to call folks out. elections are about choices. that's kind of the thing i really was resonating in my head. they're about choices. and you have a couple candidates that i think really understand that and show a differentiation. arguing isn't a differe

governor sununu was insensed by it.ke the first in the nation very seriously, whether you are republican or democrat. >> we do, and play an important role vetting the candidates. and what i think unfortunately is happening is that joe biden doesn't want to campaign in new hampshire, he's afraid to answer hard questions that new hampshire voters ask, whether it's in the diners, at the town halls, and you know, he wants the system to be rigged for him in this primary. and yes, it's a bipartisan issue, it's important if you are running for president that you actually have to talk to voters, answer the tough questions you shouldn't pick the states that you are going to appear in. governor sununu is fighting hard on this issue, we all agree and i'm so glad to see the republican presidential candidates in new hampshire. they are here every day. they are working hard. they are shaking the hands, answering the tough questions, they are doing the town halls, and showing that our party is one that is going to reach out to voters
