don't know everything about that at this point but i can tell you what i know about inside the supreme court, there is no formal ethics code. the chief justice and other justices say they follow the rules for lower court judges who do have a formal ethics code. they are obviously supposed to report this and things of value. under a federal law, they are not supposed to take any money from people they can influence a case but there is a gray area of who influences them and what kind of gifts they take. one thing that would interest your viewers is that only recently did the judicial conference amendable to say that personal hospitality would be something you should report when it gets to the figures. a private jet fighters implies, these resort vacations. this is all unfolding as we are speaking now thursday. but this is something that has concerned some members of the court but there has not been unanimity among the justices of how to communicate to the public that there actually follow ethics rules. >> how would the process work? were they have to have a unanimous vote? >> excellent questio
