. >> surae chinn is live at the foggy bottom station to tell us what this report says. good morning. >> good morning. this report says that metro is not doing a good enough job, especially when it comes to escalators. isn't this a familiar sight? you see that escalators aren't working and this one at foggy bottom is surrounded because it is being replaced. it is boarded up and there is a big sign that says it is part of this project. it has been like that for most of the year. metro's latest report card is not getting high marks. it is due out today. dozens of escalators are out throughout the system this morning. the escalator problem came to light last october when the brakes failed at l'enfant plaza during the jon stewart sanity rally sending dozens of riders tumbling to the bottom. in may, the number of escalators out of service was 103 out of nearly 600 escalators. today, it is around 80. >> i wish they would invest the money in getting the things done faster. >> many of the 82 are out of service because we're rebuilding them, not because they're broken. >> reporte
