now, i'm going to pick up where susan candiotti left off. she was talking about the power situation in parts of new york. power in philadelphia for the most part is in pretty good shape. the problem is, we do anticipate the winds to pick up. as the winds pick up we're going to see some tree damages. we have the tree damage there are going to be more power outages. the roadways, also a concern. although we do see traffic moving here along south street, let's watch out, let's not get flattened by one of these trucks. these guys are going to be coming through. they're doing a pretty nimble and slow pace. we have seen a few city busses, a few taxis, things are working but still, if you don't have to go out on the major roadways don't. roads have been treated, in pretty good place. the air going above and below it you're going to have air travel. for philadelphia in terms of southwest airlines, all flights canceled. you're not going anywhere if you're going to fly that. with the wind conditions and snow, i would not be surprised to see more issue

our susan candiotti is in new york. what those efforts have led to. >> well in one case, for several hours the rojas family, they own a small grocery store in a town called west new york, new jersey, right near new york city, and they have been frantic over what may have happened to their mother. so since early this morning, the family has been on the phone every ten minutes or so, trying to reach iris rojas. she's staying in santiago for about three months, in their home, spending time with relatives. last night just before the earthquake hit, her husband hector left on a flight back to new york, so for hours they have not known what to think and whether iris was okay. >> we don't want to think nothing happened to our mom. and we're still hoping the best that at any moment she will communicate with us. >> reporter: if only you could talk to someone else who lives nearby or -- >> yes. >> reporter: to see -- >> we try. we tried some neighbors. we tried friends we have in common over there in chile. and people tried to ca

so we sent cnn's sues been candiotti to a toyota dealership in new jersey. she's there now for us. susan? >> reporter: hi, ali. well, as you look over my shoulder here, you can see that the service bay here, filled with cars. the thing is, all the ones that see right here are mainly rentals, a few others. and the reason for that is this, toyota only now is starting to instruct all the mechanics on how to make the fixes that you were just describing. so, for example, at this particular dealership, it was only this morning that they sent a couple of their top mechanics to learn how to do that repair. one of those, mike gates, he just finished up that training, and now he is here working on a car. again, these are mainly rentals they are starting to work on now, until they can get the customers in. mike, tell us what exactly ch le looking at -- what you'll be repairing. >> this is the accelerator pedal and we'll put the bar in the back. >> reporter: it was loose. we're coming around to get a better shot of that. let's come around to the other side so we can get a closer look at that replace
