joining me now, david brock, democratic strategist and susan del percio, a republican strategist and msnbc political analyst. david, let me start with you, does bernie sanders have to win michigan to bring back some kind of moment and some kind of feeling that he is still in this race with a serious chance of turning around the lead of vice president -- former vice president biden, even with still not knowing the final count in california? >> right, yes, i think he does. particularly because senator sanders won last time and i think he needs to win it by a convincing margin. if you look at the other states in play on the 10th, it's going to be very hard if sanders doesn't have a substantial up in michigan to lead biden. you think about the 13th be is so gaunting for sanders because that may be the day we know essentially who the nominee is. and i think basically what's happened here is the democratic electorate ended up being more pragmatic than risk-adverse than many people had thought. people -- i think sanders people looked a little too soon, particularly in nevada, and there was

, david brock, the chairman of the democratic organization american bridge 2 1st century and susan del percio is a republican strategist and msnbc analyst. david, let me take from the last exchange i had with the mayor of jackson. politics in this are where clearly all of us would hope does not enter it and will not remain in small situations they have. there was an ad put out that the president and his team is fighting that it not be by an organization you were united states affiliated with, priorities usa, that really talks -- that shows the president making statements at the beginning that this was a hoax by the democrats, the coronavirus was a hoax, then that it will be gone, it was only a few people, it will disappear, and on and on until he finally got to where he's dealing with a national emergency. do you think it is appropriate and even constitutional for the president to be fighting for an ad that shows him saying things about this particular pandemic at different stages when obviously they're not misquoting him, they're using video of him and obviously the public has a right to all

so, susan del percio, you know what?und interesting in listening to bernie, he didn't move to the middle of the democratic electorate, i hear bernie talk about health care reform. i agree with a ton of his talking points he would say the united states spends more money on health care per patient than any other country on the planet. that's true. that our health care system is extraordinarily inefficient. and while tens of millions of americans don't have health care insurance despite all this money we're spending on health care, you got big pharma and health care conglomerates racking in record profits, billions and billions of dollars and it is an extraordinarily inefficient system. we have universal health care. if somebody gets sick they go to the hospital, they get taken care of. but it is so inefficient. of course, it is so dehumanizing for those people who have to go into the emergency room for primary care. so there's so much that bernie sanders said that made sense that cries out for a solution that we will see i

kanisha grant, chris lieu, and susan del percio, welcome all. kanisha, to you first here, as we look at this nbc polling out of the state of north carolina, it shows bernie sanders leading joe biden by just two points, certainly well within the margin of error. 7% of voters remain undecided. how much do you think last night's huge win just, you know, to the south there in south carolina, moves the headwinds for biden? >> i think they're going to be incredibly important in moving those headwinds. i think we've been hearing a campaign of joe biden as a person who is not viable and bernie sanders as a person who is viable. now we have folks who might have been on the fence about biden who might feel more comfortable supporting him now. we might have some black voters who are worried about casting their vote to him and whether they should go to mike bloomberg, maybe choosing to stay in that camp instead of going somewhere else. >> interesting. chris, another nbc poll from texas shows sanders definitely having the lead there, 34% for sanders, biden b

. >> susan del percio, sir michael is conservative as are you. is it in the interest of conservatives to say bernie sanders has no future right now? >> bernie sanders dropped out now so the democratic party can heal itself, and we don't see what happened in 2016 which there were still a lot of ill feeling about when hillary clinton did not get the full support of bernie sanders folks, so they need to have that happen much earlier. they can't wait until june. so it would make sense that way. plus when you look at where biden is winning, he's winning in the suburbs. that's where the turn out calculation has changed. and michigan was a really tough loss for bernie sanders because if he can't win michigan, he can't win ohio. and look at those voters and look where we're looking towards 2020 for the general election. there needs to be accountsing to take on donald trump who can win there. >> joy reid made an interesting point on twitter. she said in 2012 there were -- 2008 black voters were waiting for white voters to say it was okay to vote for barac
