the susan g. komenace for the cure returns to san francisco but it appears the side effects of a decision to withdraw funding from planned parenthood lingers. donations to the local chapter of the susan g. komen for the cure are down by 65% compared to last year. registration for the sunday's 5k race, 50% lower than last year. in january the headquarters announced it would stop funding planned parenthood because it was under investigation for using government money for abortions. organizers are still working to repair the damage. >> i tell those individuals that funds from the suiten g. coman three-day are so important. our funds go toward national research, large public outreach programs and locally we also fund and support local community based and affiliate programs. every 19 seconds someone somewhere is diagnosed with breast cancer and we're here and in it to win this fight. >> the local affiliate says it never supported the planned parenthood decision. >> time to check the forecast now. how is it l
