let's turn to washington bureau chief of "usa today" susan paige covering the ninth presidential campaign. thank you for taking a few minutes. scott walker, the governor of wisconsin says, look, if donald trump can stay on message, can stay disciplined, i know, they're big ifs with donald trump but he can do that and keep the focus on hillary clinton and an issue like national security, like he talked about yesterday, if he could do that, do you think he'd get some traction there? is there room for him to grow with that issue? >> yeah. actually, steve, my tenth presidential campaign but who's counting? you know, absolutely this is a -- you know, this is a landscape that could be a winnable election for republicans if they ran the right kind of campaign. americans say they want change. hillary clinton has some vulnerabilities of her own. but the question is whether donald trump is going to be able to put that together in a sustained and disciplined way. so far we have seen he gives a speech that gets a good reception. lays out some themes that could gain some traction and so far failed to follow that up. and the clock is ticking. 8
