i just heard from the president of the teachers union, susan solomon, she says she is disappointed. her quote, she says she's disappointed that the city has chosen to attack rather than support the school district. united educators of san francisco has been calling for this city to help with resources such as covid testing and vaccines. but this has not happened. now, san francisco mayor london breed has said she has contributed $15 million to the reopening effort and has partnered with the district to offer covid testing for teachers. mayor breed told the chronicle she supports the lawsuit saying distance learning is not working for anyone. city attorney dennis herrera told the chronicle it is a shame it has come to this, that the school district has earned an f in the assignment of reopening, saying they had more than ten months to come up with a plan. the school district spokesperson has not gotten back to us yet. this is all just now breaking. so a lot for all of the players in this to digest this morning. that lawsuit is expected to be filed today. live in san francisco, amy ho

thank you for waiting. >> susan solomon again. i want to say that we appreciate the superintendent emphasized safety. the unions of san francisco unified feel the same way. in fact eight hours ago, about the length of this meeting so far, i e-mailed the commissioners, the superintendent and district superintendent, with a petition with over 4300 signatures, calling for a safe reopen of school buildings since the video concluded. we are committed to continuing the process of negotiations to get our students back when it's safe to do so for all of us, and we have three bargaining dates at this point set in february alone -- sorry. at this point, four bargaining dates. so low spread and proper testing protocols in place for educators and students should be a priority for us all. we are very interested in learning more about the possibility of vaccines. we know the distribution has been kind of a mess in the state and the country, but if we can get that improved, that would be a good sign. as educators and district employees, we are u
