now, chester county, looking little closer here, down in sussex looks like it is probably starting to accumulate. specially around ocean pines ocean city maryland, dewey beach, rehoboth beach. we have newark, delaware, probably getting little bit of snow. and we see it moving into chester, lancaster maybe even little bit of berks counties, this morning. and your weather by the numbers, going with four out of ten not everybody will see this accumulating snow, but we need to be ready for t bus stop buddy sure s he's all bundled up this morning with the snow boots on, as well, so here is a breakdown of what's going to happen. it is going to be an event during the morning rush. heaviest snow will be south and east of i-95, if you're north and west of the city, you may not see anything, and if you do, it won't be much more than flurries or snow showers. whatever you get it will taper off by the middle of the day, several inches of accumulation, in southern new jersey, and the state of delaware, where we will have the breakdown of who gets what, take closer look at radar coming up in just a

as we start the morning rush there is a little bit of significant snow down here in sussex county and also cape may county new jersey. the darker colors indicate heavier snow. and it is barely getting up to the philadelphia area as we go into the 9:00 10:00 hour continuing in delaware and south jersey. and then it just tapers off to a few little snow flurries by early afternoon. that's the latest computer guidance. here is my latest forecast for the amounts of snow 3 to 6 inches before it is all over with in much of sussex county and delaware and perhaps right around cape may and up to wildwood. 2 to 4 inches in central delaware kent county also much of atlantic county. and then about an inch as we head towards the philadelphia area. and we'll look at that map here. perhaps a coating, up to an inch in and around philly. as we go further to the north and west less and less of a chance of any kind of measurable snow, though there could be some flakes falling in even some of the northern or western suburbs. and a little bit of a change in the track of that storm could make a big differen

in sussex county delaware, we have an inch to an inch 1/2. the farther south you go the better chance of 3 inches of accumulation by lunchtime. in philadelphia, less than that. but hey, a little bit on the roads can get you slipping and sliding, so slow down when you see that. in south jersey and delaware we'll have 1 to 3 inches with spots going to 4. less than that up north. we want you to use caution as the light snow begins to build in. slow it down and watch for slick spots as the snow comes down. temperatures are cold enough to support the snow. 28 in philadelphia. 30 in wilmington, 29 in millville. so untreated surfaces where the snow hits will have the tendency to take it on. 16 degrees is the current windchill in philadelphia. colder on the way to school, kids. 24 degrees by 8:00 a.m. high of 30 degrees by 3:00 p.m. again, the snow happening now in south jersey, but tapering off across the region as soon as lunchtime. >> reporter: we have a camera on the main artery coming into the city from south jersey. 42, we can see the salt crew

some of the heaviest in sussex county possible. it continues to spread to the north by 7:00 8:00 in the morning. snow still falling. some heavy at times. by 9:00 10:00 in the morning we still expect the snow to be falling and accumulating. by 11:00, and closer to noon it will taper off. much more clearing through the afternoon. as far as the totals are concerned once this is all said and done i think some of the highest amounts will be in sussex county possibly three to six inches. parts of south jersey maybe two to four inches here. so we will be seeing this again right around the morning commute hours. like i mentioned, it will be sticking. philadelphia area from wilmington to trenton, 8:00 in the morning, snow moving in. 9:00 10:00 in the morning, we still see some of the snow not as heavy as south jersey and delaware. we'll see around an inch from philadelphia up to trenton, and just about 20 miles on either side of 95. north and west through the lehigh valley, pretty much just snow showers expected less than an inch if that. l

richmond looking at heavy snow right now and it's moving in to sussex county, delaware, right now sorting to cross the chesapeake bay area right now. snowing in the nation's capitol we'll continue to watch that moisture move into that cold air so it's not a question about are the temperatures cold enough but it's just when that snow arrives in your backyard. so you can see by 8:00 o'clock we're looking at it snowing in dover as well as cape may. it continues to move toward new castle county by 9:00, 10:00 o'clock. some flurries likely out ahead of that toward the philadelphia area and cherry hill but then really overnight after midnight that's when the bulk of the action starts to get going especially in south jersey 10 central and sections of delaware. by 3:00 in the fox 29 morning news will begin at 3am earlier time. we're looking at that know fall. sue will be tracking that snow across the area and the heaviest snow once again will be in south jersey and delaware. especially down the shore. by 5:00 a.m. we're still looking at that snow. by 7:00 o'clock it starts to taper off rapid

it is still just a winter weather advisory to take effect in sussex county delaware specifically. so we're not talking about a major situation down there but looking for accumulation out of this particular storm that is where you want to head and specifically tomorrow morning. you can see right new there is a few clouds on storm scan three but off to the west and great lakes we have beginnings of lake enhanced snow. the that is a sign of arctic front that will be dropping on in. this next batch of snow, i don't think you have to worry about it, this storm down here the one i was just talking about that will absorb this energy and help pull it the out to sea quickly. this is pretty far away. it is already getting here by tomorrow early in the morning. so this will be a speedy little will guy. as we look ahead to future snow amounts because it is moving so quickly that is why you will not see a ton out of this. i like how this initializes if you saw a quick coating through philadelphia, northern suburbs, i wouldn't be shock but generally a couple snow showers is all we expect throug

it is also moving into kent and sussex counties. taking a closer look at the snow forecast, the highest amounts are going to be situated in the counties. between five to nine inches expected. four to seven closer to salem county. as we take a closer look for philadelphia, camden gloucester, new castle bucks, montgomery chester, those locations, those counties will see anywhere between two to four inches. we have already seen around two inches come down in some of our suburbs. if you look closer to the lehigh valley we are going to see one to three inches with the storm system that we're tracking situated mainly to the south of the region. so that's why some of the southernmost locations will see more snowfall than others. two inches or less if you live closer to the poxcanos. the bull's-eye of the storm is the central and southern parts of delaware and along the shore. jillian mele is watching for any problems the storm is causing. good morning. >>> good morning to you brittney. we still have an accident on the boulevard southbound

that's in portions of sussex county. there you can see the snow. it's steadier in philadelphia and a little bit lighter farther to the north and west. that snowfall in cape may a bit heavier than northern cape may county. and you can see in dover it's starting to lighten up a little bit. but it's still coming down and still accumulating. and it doesn't take much of this very light fluffy snowfall to make for very slippery conditions. allentown to lancaster county seeing the snow taper off. and you can see the back edge headed for delaware too. so we will see most of this come to an end before 7:00 for areas north and west and portions of delaware, same story. look at the hour by hour forecast. 7:00 this morning, some light snowfall along the northeast corridor to trenton and northeast philadelphia. but wilmington sees it tapering off, even southern and central delaware will see it start to end. and allentown and reading, we will be looking at cloudy skies. 8:00 this morning, the steadier snow accumulating snow for eastern new jersey. while north an

maybe a couple of inches or so, maybe more down here, especially sussex county in delaware the southern most point of our viewing area we will look at 14 degrees outside right now sunrise happening at 6:51. we will not see sunshine until into the the afternoon. 14 degrees does feel like four. we have single digit wind chills out there. it is not as cold as yesterday but it is very cold and that is why we're only seeing snow this morning. so, other temperatures, reading, 11. ten in lancaster. twelve in trenton. twelve in wildwood. our wind chill so many of them in the single digits. we do not have the wind we had yesterday. so we will not see a whole lot of blowing and drifting with this snow. we will stick with these totals for now. for three to 6 inches in the philadelphia area much more to the south of us. our planner for the day is snowy start and slick road throughout the morning commute and then snow exits by lunchtime. it is out of here. cloudy skies will remain for a little while and by the end of the day we will see some sunshine but our high temperature will only be, 28 degrees

and look at sussex county in delaware. this is where we're going to see the heaviest snow potentially three to six inches for southern delaware. and at 10:00 this morning, snow is still coming down. steadiest, heaviest snow still in delaware and south jersey. we'll see scattered light snow showers over the philadelphia area. but by 11:00, those snow showers taper off by noontime the snow is starting to thin out in new jersey. by 1:00 this afternoon, this one is pretty much done. so stand by for some light snow. even philadelphia could see a dusting in some areas north and west. maybe up to half an inch but that's about it. the heavier snowfall delaware and south jersey. the weekend, we've got sunshine for saturday and we'll start with sunshine on sunday. the clouds will be increasing. and late sunday sunday evening, there's a chance that we'll see some snow and some rain. and that won't be the end of it. seven-day forecast when i'm back in ten. i know you didn't want to hear that. >> that was kind of a teaser right there.
