this was heyman's land just south of sutro's. you could seat cars lined up waiting for buyers, essentially. in the background you have some of these novel seaside cottages. he left the cars exposed on purpose. it was a publicity thing. you might come out picnicing or walking along the great highway on the weekend and thought what the heck is that thing? you go over, buy a lot, $35 two cars, can't miss. this is that same view just a knew months later. we're talking about mid 1899 now. you can see the cars are all starting to be put to use in buildings. they'd come up with all of these different patterns. this car on the left is two cars end-to-end with a connecting vestibule. it's kind of an i pattern so you could have a cabin in one car, a compartment in one car. the other car might be your mother-in-law. and you could meet in the middle in that sorted of connecting section for breakfast. they did similar things. they'd put like four in a cross with a connecting part in the middle. and you could see these are not exactly a.d.a. a

is a live picture from our sutro camera. you look at the fog there, you can see sutro tower just poking frup fog. there is a very shallow layer. it's expected to remain that way throughout the morning. take a look at satellite picture from afternoon. the fog has been cling together coastline all afternoon long. and the fog that got into some of our bayside communities was slow to pull back. it has been a little bit cooler this afternoon in terms of highs. warming trend didn't quite materialize. and temperatures now 80s, 90s inland. 50s and 60s along the coast. foggy tonight z warmer inland tomorrow. and we're looking at mild to warm conditions for the weekend. there is a look at water vapor imagery. hot air mass continues to be impacking our weather and we're just on the area here with, this hot air mass upper level ridge, we're going to continue to see warm days inland as we feel affects of this large ridge that is well to the east of us. and we're going see some moisture, circulating right into some of the sierra nevada lo

beautiful picture, looking down from sutro back at san francisco you see the marine layer clouds and isn't that gorgeous, the clouds just coming over the buildings. you seat some of the clouds along the east bay shore and here is another perspective from vollmer peak. talk about the temperatures, not moving much. we still have the same areas in the 50s, fairfield, mountain view, and everybody else in the 50s. around the monterey bay and inland, temperatures in the low to mid-50s with cloudy conditions. by the afternoon hours, sunny and still be pretty warm inland while the rest of us around the bay and coast will feel pretty mild. more clouds, comfortable conditions tonight as more of us will be in the 50s. cooling trend for the afternoon hours, it will be the weekend when it's going to drop and it still looks like that will be the case. we'll ramp up just a little bit in concord and fremont, one degree warmer, and about 6 degrees warmer in oakland and santa rosa. 14 hours 39 minutes of sunshine before it sets at about 8:34. clouds and how they are trying to push into the bay shore o
