this was heyman's land just south of sutro's. you could seat cars lined up waiting for buyers, essentially. in the background you have some of these novel seaside cottages. he left the cars exposed on purpose. it was a publicity thing. you might come out picnicing or walking along the great highway on the weekend and thought what the heck is that thing? you go over, buy a lot, $35 two cars, can't miss. this is that same view just a knew months later. we're talking about mid 1899 now. you can see the cars are all starting to be put to use in buildings. they'd come up with all of these different patterns. this car on the left is two cars end-to-end with a connecting vestibule. it's kind of an i pattern so you could have a cabin in one car, a compartment in one car. the other car might be your mother-in-law. and you could meet in the middle in that sorted of connecting section for breakfast. they did similar things. they'd put like four in a cross with a connecting part in the middle. and you could see these are not exactly a.d.a. a

as far as the camera bouncing around up on vollmer peak looking towards emeryville, san francisco, sutro tower in the distance. the winds are gusting up around 30, 35 miles per hour in some of our higher elevations. a little choppy on the bay. definitely see that flag blowing out of the north northwest right now as we look back from south beach towards the northeast. rain showers developed over napa mill valley 2/10 of an inch there. everybody else measured in the hundredths. once they blew through the winds brought a quiet commute storm all the way down in l.a. headed ford san diego higher elevations -- headed for san diego, it is a cold car system. low to mid 50s now almost total sunshine monterey bay the same. we'll keep to mostly sunny, breezes also once the sunsets the atmosphere while decouple that means it will get calmer allowing it to be colder during the night and warmer during next couple of afternoons. chance of rain sunday into monday now possibly scattered showers friday night also. first let's talk about today upper 50s to low 60s with our breezes fastest over the ocean wh

models are trending drier, live picture from our east bay hills camera, we're looking west, you can see sutro tower there. fog now reducing visibility, gronld gate bridge turning dicey on roadways. there is hachl moon bay down to a half mile. high definition south beach camera, lovely view of sunshine and high clouds moving in. there is a rain but it's light and surrounds crescent city. not going to amount to a lot for us here in the bay area. i'll show new just a moment. temperatures into 50s skpf 60s, loks running cooler. turning cloudy overnight, areas of drizzle and partly cloudy skies so this is now looking drier than what we have thought there. is a first system. it's weak. there is late tonight so what does this amount to? clouds and there is some spotty drizzle as a cold front comes through. this will produce snow in the sierra nevada for saturday. there is isolated snow showers and there is monday, more isolated showers that are possible there. huf moving into saturday afternoon, sunday we start to see another system. this misses the bay area, it's just going to head to the south so.
