suzanne cnn. we are going to ask some of your questions. >>> i want to go live, we have some breaking news, to deb fairic, this is the story about the susan g. komenoundation and the planned parenthood controversy. i understand that there is a development. >> there is as a matter of fact, suzanne, moments ago, we received notice that the susan g komen foundation is, in fact, going to restore funding to planned parenthood. this came after a letter signed by some 26 senators to the foundation, which criticized them for stopping their funding of planned parenthood, which does mammographies on women low and medium income women. now, in making this decision, senator lautenberg praised the susan g. komen foundation saying "they are now depoll lilt sizing the grant making process and the refocusing back on its core mission, which is saving women's lives." the susan g. komen foundation, the founder, was under intense pressure following their announcement, they were called political that that was decision that they were making because of pressure that was being brought to bear on them, so, after great pressure, in fact, now they are restoring that, saying

suzanne candiotti joining us. >> reporter: hi, fred. you know, fallout from that funding flap may be far from over. the controversy came to light when word got out this week that susan g. komens pulling grants to planned parenthood, an organization that provides health care to women and also performs abortions. after a huge uproar, komen reversed its decision. groups on left, right and middle are weighing in. national right to life which opposes abortion is coming down hard on komen sailing "national right to life strongly urges suzanne g.komen for the cure and all cancer research organizations to approve no future funding to planned parenthood, the nation's largest chain of abortion clinics. right-to-life supporters do not want donations for fighting cancer to go to organizations that perform abortions." well, breast cancer action which in part fights misinformation about the disease, has been critical of komen but in this case thinks komen did the right thing. >> i don't think komen's job is to make everyone happen. i think our job is to insure that women's health comes first. women's health needs to come before politics. it needs to come before religious pressure. >> susa
