now i am so honored to be leading the education at our synagogue. we began feeding people for the interfaith shelter in 1990, when they opened. since then, we have been feeding 10,000 people -- 10,000 meals per year. every sunday, our kitchen has become the crossroads of the world. not just our congregation, but all walks of san franciscans come to our kitchens. a lot of people find their faith in the house of worship were shipping. what i have learned in that kitchen is that, for many people, their prayer is they're doing the work of their hands and giving back to our community. thanks a lot for the opportunity.
