it starts with t-mobile and dish networks. i can't confirm they are in talks, but this pair has a long road ahead of them. it could lead to a dead end. twitter getting a downgrade even as anthony noto steps up his defense of the company's strategy. round-about retail. nordstrom, costco l brands all with very different reads on the consumer. there are talks going on between dish network and t-mobile. i should add its parent deutsche telekom which owns as much as 65% of t-mobile. they have been of on and off nature. nature. the ceo of dish is a difficult negotiator. seems committed, backs away. where are they right now? there is activity. underwood dish would be the acquiring entity for t-mobile. germany's deutsche telekom would own a significant stake. the deal would largely be in stock. the ability of dish to lever up its balance sheet. they could do involvement could they do the $17 billion in cash they offered two years ago as part of their deal? there is a lot to go through here. you could say, i'll be chairman you be ceo.

emily: craig, what is your take on comcast and t-mobile? craig: t-mobile is everybody's partner.ly: so, is any partnership with t-mobile going to happen, or is this comcast thing going to happen specifically? craig: remember the context for this was t-mobile was reportedly in conversations with dish network about a possible tie up and i expect what they are signaling is they are not entirely happy with the prospect of dish network as their partner, and so they are looking around to see what alternatives are out there. it certainly makes sense to talk to comcast. it is possible to see if they sprint tie up is possible in the beginning of 2017. comcast would certainly be on the shortlist, but i do not think comcast is a likely partner. part of that is because having gone through the regulatory process with time warner cable i cannot imagine comcast will say now is the time to start that again, in this case with t-mobile. emily: t-mobile looks interested in partnering with someone. it remains to be seen who that someone will be. fcc commissioner pai, craig moffett, thank you both fo

potentially t-mobile --. dish.here is fallout elsewhere among the telecoms. -- as t-mobile and dish have been called the only two suitors left, i don't know where that will leave sprint. investors are selling the shares , they are down by 5%. we are watching at&t and verizon. not directly linked to a potential combination between t-mobile and dish from a but at&t was upgraded over at jpmorgan over optimism that the will be positive for at&t and verizon's acquisition of aol might not be so positive. another area of green we are seeing today is in the casinos. casinos that are focused on macau. this in part because they have done so poorly recently. we had an executive from galaxy payment saying macau gaining should improve in the second half of the year. it was hit as china clamps down on corruption. all of these stocks rebounding today. take a look at my bloomberg terminal for a year-to-date charge of the macau china gaining index. you can see the declines we've seen for the year, down by about 23%. ,f you go back

t-mobile up -- t-mobile and dish are discussing a merger. the stock is up 1%. that would be a boom furred deutsche telekom, if they could offload t-mobile. the yen is strengthening against the dollar. here is the euro. you have the biggest two-day rally in the euro since 2009. there was this resurgence in the euro. the consistent -- it is the biggest two-day rally since march 2009. jonathan: a softer open in london. four minutes into the session you thought europe was interesting let's go to yvonne man in hong kong. yvonne, run it through the action in asia. it is pretty difficult to keep up. yvonne: i can't keep up either. what a difference an hour and a half makes. earlier we're talking about a pairing of losses down 3%. backup in the shanghai composite. volumes though still at 80% for both markets from that 30 day average at this time of trading. again volatility mario draghi is talking about it, here it is. this is one week ago when we saw 6.5% plunge in the shanghai composite. there are ups and downs. when it comes to that 5000 level, we seem to be hitting
