the oil and gas company's chairman, with financial help from t-boone pickens and others, will take exco private in a $4.4 billion deal. that news pushed exco's shares to a six-month high. but some think the buyout price should be higher. there's already a couple of lawsuits out there alleging exco's board should wait for a better offer. some see a wave of buyouts and takeovers occurring in the nat- gas sector. cabot oil and comstock shares being some possible candidates there. natural-gas prices are in the tank, so the rationale is that private investors have a lot more patience than public markets to wait for a turnaround in the natural gas market. while we're on the subject of oil, let's look at baker hughes. shares jumped over 3%. profits were helped by more drilling activity in north america, and the buyout of b.j. services last spring. pulling up a chart we see the news buoyed the stock to a three-month high. here is another buyout, this one among the regional banks. wilmington trust being bought by m&t bank at a deep discount of $350 million-- or $3.84 per share in stock. that com

t. boone pickens said the u.s. can do this by doing a number of things. many countries do not like us and did not plan on doing well by us. as for the costs of this, it is simply untrue to say that we will be paying taxes all day long. reality is that for the cost of a postage stamp every day, a postage stamp, we can get economic and national security. it is time to do this for this country. and people know this. but the best thing for all of us to do is start arguing on partisan politics like this and start dealing with the issues. the issues are about economic security and national security and we simply must develop more energy. >> thank you kentucky to address the question whether the federal government should subsidize the creation of green jobs? >> the federal government has always held businesses to launch. certainly it is in our national security and economic interest to help these companies start up. such as like as support these tax incentives and breaks for every other industry, they should as well received them. >> let's say an entrepreneur in

t. boone pickens, of course, has the pickens plan.is if we can just start with a federal government converting like, for instance, cars to natural gas and trucks to natural gas, in their fleet, it would make a huge difference, but the pentagon is doing that as well already with you guys. >> the military has. they were our original first customer back about ten years ago. and they picked up the material and they used it in iraq and afghanistan for the war. we were a big part of the infrastructure repair process. >> and what you gives do, though, is you actually take pollution from coal and turn it into cement ash. >> it's fly ash, which is the coal, the part when you burn the coal, you create a noncombustible, it's fly ash. that's what's collected in typically it's landfilled. what we've done is we've developed a green cement which takes fly ash, and it combines some proprietary materials and we create a cement. it's a one-to-one replacement for portland cement. >> wow. >> it can be used in virtually any application to create concrete.
