i'm t.j. holmes in today for mr. craig melvin. we'll begin with those new developments in the middle east. the u.n. secretary-general and the u.s. state department both condemning an attack in gaza today that killed ten palestinian civilians and wounded dozens outside a u.n. school. witnesses say the air strike landed outside the entrance of that school where the victims were waiting in line for food when the missile hit. the school is sheltering roughly 3,000 palestinians. state department spokesperson jen socki this afternoon saying the u.s. is, quote, appalled by today's disgraceful shelling, end quote. u.n. secretary-general calling the attack, quote, a moral outrage and a criminal act. lieutenant colonel peter learner, a spokesman for the israeli defense forces told my colleague, alex witt, they are investigating. >> we were targeting and successfully targeted two or three terror -- or militants that were on a motorcycle moving at a quick speed. we're investigating the outcome and the circumstances of this strike, but we do k

t.j. holmes in today for craig melvin. first, ferguson. we learned just hours ago attorney general eric holder ordered another autopsy on the body of michael brown. the attorney general cites extraordinary circumstances. this will now be the third autopsy after local investigators and the brown family. now, you heard from missouri governor jay nixon just yesterday on our show right here. he declared a state of emergency and imposed a curfew in ferguson. so how did that go last night? chaos and violence last night erupted in the streets as hundreds defied that midnight to 5:00 a.m. curfew. police once again fired tear gas to try and disperse demonstrators despite this promise from highway patrol captain ron johnson saturday. >> we will enforce that curfew. we won't enforce it with trucks. we won't enforce it with tear gas. we'll communicate. we'll talk about you know what? it's time to go home. it's time to go home. >> johnson, however, says the decision to use tear gas came after one person was s

i'm t.j. holmes in today for mr. craig melvin. we begin with that developing story out of missouri. community there outraged after the fatal shooting death of an unarmed 18-year-old black man by a police officer. the teen has been identified as michael brown. you're seeing him there. shot yesterday by a ferguson, missouri, police officer. hours ago the county police had a press conference describing what happened. >> a ferguson police officer had an encounter with two individuals on the street. in fact, one of those individuals at the time came in as the officer was exiting his police officers car, allegedly pushed the police officer back into the car where he physically assaulted the police officer. it is our understanding at this point in the investigation that within the police car there was a struggle over the officer's weapon. there was at least one shot fired within the car. after that the officer went -- came back out of the car. he exited his vehicle, and there was a shooting that occurred where the officer, in fact, shot the subject and the subject -- they were fatal injuri
